I agree with Dial Tone, there is no best shoe for everyone because different shoes are better for different styles of feet. I like Adidas runners, Supernova Controls, they are perfect for my high arches and narrow feet. I've also noticed that these and other Adidas last longer than other shoe brands. Nikes, with some exceptions, feel great but wear out quickly. New Balances are great for straighter feet. Mizunos seem to work best for lighter than average people. And yes, lots of people love those Asics Kayanos but they're like $135. A good running shoe specialty store is your best resource to find the right shoe.
