BEST running Shoe?

"I use to say Nike but now tip my had to Newton Running. New company out of Boulder, CO. They have a lot of high profile traithletes who can out run anyone at EF."

Yea but my money's on EF in a barfight.

The best shoe is the one you can comfortably run 5 miles in without killing your feet. Their is no one model that is better than all the others - it is very individual.

I like Teva's and New Balance models, and don't care for Asics or Saucany. I don't care for Nike or Reebok either. But this is a personal choice.

My recommendation is to go to a running store and see what fits your foot the best. Once you find one that works for you, stick to it.

i really depends on your foot and your needs. best thing to do is to go to a running store and have your foot evaluated to see what you need. Based on that you should be able to pick on the works with your feet and your needs.

Asics Gel Kayano13. I like them because they have support for over-pronators like me but not as weighty or tank-like compared to the Brooks Beast, which is like running in concrete. They also come in widths and big sizes, for me that's the key as I wear Size 15 or 16.
The toe box is roomy and the heal tight. So my toes have room but my heal doesn't slide-less chance of blisters or black toes. They have good air flow and ventilation which is good in running in Arizona where night time lows are often a cool 90+ ouch. May be too much air flow for you rust belters.
The good and bad of this shoe-they stopped making them I gues we are up to Kayano 14. The good news is that huge sizes now on sale $90 at RRS. I also trash the stock insole, they are garbage and substitute the RRS insoles get a few pairs of shoes and insoles and rotate.
Judging from the marathons and 10k's around these parts Asics is king/ and queen-in fact it's hard to find a gal not running Asics.
