Id stay away from the low reps with abs.I've done the low rep high weight (12-15 reps)and it made my abs really stick out but they were big and thick. Not really aesthetic. Id personally stick with dieting down and using higher reps it looks better

You can never achieve a higher number "pack" of abs. You are born with a set number of these whether it be 4 or 12, you can't attain more of them.
Just a FYI, not intending to sound like a know it all. I learned this from a friend studying anatomy.

#1 is to get them exposed all the way... No matter how big, you can't see all of them if there's any fat on there. I'll tell you from experience, that if you're trying to be big and have a sharp cut sixpack at the same time, it's hard to do. I did it, but it took me 20+ years of farting around with different calorie intake of various mixtures of protein and carbs, and fine-tuning my heavy lifting vs. aerobic workouts. Charles
