Beginner 3x5 or Intermediate 5x5???

Hey guys. I haven't been able to really work out since about mid-May. I probably won't be able to until the beginning of September. This obviously is a long lay off, at least I would consider it so. I'm 6'0" and was about 175, probably more toward 170 now. I've been working out for 2 years. I've run the 5x5, although not consistently.

My question is, should I begin a new 5x5 in September, or because of the long lay off should I work on the 3x5 for a bit.

3x5 till you start to miss reps two (or so) weeks in a row then move to 5x5 might be a good option.

pretty much use the 3x5 to get you up to where you were before you stopped lifting, then it may be 'required' to move to the 5x5.
