ladies if you aren't eating spinach, broccoli and boiled chicken...well I don't like y'all today and I probably won't like ya tomorrow....Oh thursday I'm sure I'll be back to loving you all.

Haven't done boiled chicken, although I"m now 90% cooking my chicken, steak & buffalo, and then microwaving it over a cup of water at eat time - I guess this is supposed to lift off any sodium, and then towel it off before eating. The challenge is to not have the meat drop INTO the cup of water during nukage --- then you have sodium + whatever was in the water as well....

Crazy. Tomorrow starts carb up!

I acutally eat Chick, spin & broc daily... I just posted about this low carb thing in a different thread... ha!

:bigkiss:

You got 3 days to go? You'll make it, you are a tough Twiny Twin twin...

WHO LOFFS YA!?!?!?! MUAHS:kiss:

(*(*(*(*(*M24K*)*)*)*)*)

(those are hugs-n-kisses)

Does grilled chicken count?? :worried:

If not, I'm soooo sorry!! Loves ya, girlfriend!!

lol @ sassy, ok now that's just too much work... haha. I don't carb up until Thursday, mmmmmmmm can't wait for the sweet potato :p :p :p

gawwd my stomach won't stop groaning....Someone was talkinn to me and my tummy was making all sorts of noise and they were like did you hear that, what's that noise..... :worried:

Nope grilled chicken doesn't count :chomp:

Oh 1 more thing, mine bf was a sweetie and came to see me at lunch, but he didn't eat yet and was hungry so I told him let's go get him something to eat. Well he got a bacon burger with fries and brought it back to my office and ate. I wasn't even tempted although my tummy as been yelling at me all day....

I' just f*ning good!!!!! lol

You ROCK Miss-Missy!!

BTW -- for your contest prep -- why can't you have grilled chicken?? Why only boiled chicken?? I don't see the diff.; especially if you don't put anything on it (ie plain)

hmmm .... boiled chicken... hmm... just be thankful its almost over... my old trainer made me eat that crap for like 2 weeks before one of my shows.... The smell still haunts me...

but believe me its worth it... so just hang in there...

to make you feel a little better... I have had close to 0 carbs in the past three days.. yeah that sucks!!!

How true this is, dunno - boiled chicken is pretty damn clean. Grilled chicken will collect "carcinogens" from the grilling process.

CC ok I feel alittle better now. lol

Jens, what Sassy said, plus to boil out any sodium in the chicken, you can't get your chicken any cleaner than boiling it, although it tastes nasty...only a few more days.

Court, I'm so glad there are a few ladies on here that feel my pain....eating the nasty boiled chicken isn't the worst part it's the friggin NO CARBS , I think my tummy is going to start eating it's self....

Ah! I was just wondering.... still blech! :worried:

I'm there with you girl! My carb up is delayed until Thurs & its debatable how big the carb up will be even then. At least I'm not eating boiled chicken :)

But get this little adventure... Because I'm doign this goofy steaming thing -- cook my meat about 90% then when its time to eat, I put it over a cup of water & basically steam it to lift the sodium up off the meat and wipe it off w/ a napkin. (Whatever..) So I'm at the gym tonite. Their microwave broke. So nooooooo, I can't just eat my stuff cold. I gotta get the sodium off. So what does the trainer tell me to do? Drive down to the corner Jiffy Mart and use their microwave. Wonderful. So I drive down there, park in front of the gas pump and sneak in w/ my cooler. Luckily there's 2 little Hispanic kids fighting over the Icee Freeze machine, a fat guy workin the Lotto Tickets and some other vagrants otherwise conveniently distracting the counter guy. I got my stuff nuked. Oh brother. I just left and ate my damn steamed buffalo.

The shit we do for competition...

sassy... haha lmao... that is the funnest thing.... I am so sorry at least they didn't ask you what you were doing... yeah the shit we have to go through... but hey when you are standing on that stage it while be all worth it...

did you say you don't do a carb up until thursday? Just saying waiting to see how things look tomorrow and then deal w/ carbs on thurs.

Sassy I just read your post and almost choked on my boiled chicken :lmao: yup the things we do for our hobby lol

I'll be carbing up as of Thursday mmmmmmm I can't wait I'll be having some yummy sweet potato this time tomorrow. Ok now how foolish do I sound all excited over getting to have some sweet potato tomorrow.

So last night, I'm like oh I'm going to go to bed early 8:30pm, so I can stop hearing my tummy yell at me, and guess what I couldn't sleep for nothing and why was that because my tummy wouldn't shut up. :worried:

I am very, very, very new to this forum but not so new to cooking chicken :) ... I have a suggestion that might make the boiled chicken a tad less bland and tasteless and will add NOTHING in terms of calories, sodium, negative stuff (maybe some garlic breath).

I buy chicken breasts in packages of about 4 or 5, boneless/skinless. Take a big pot (I guess it holds a couple of gallons, you want it large enough to hold say 2" or so of water, and the chicken, and still have some room), and it has to have a lid. Fill pot about 2 or 3" deep in water. Into that water add a couple of tablespoons of dried sage (double that if you're using fresh, don't be afraid to be generous), a healthy splash of lemon juice (about 1/2 a cup or so) a couple of grinds of black pepper, four or so cloves of garlic mashed up chopped, whatever (more if you like), and two large onions diced. Bring this to a boil, then reduce the heat and let the whole mass simmer on low for 30 minutes. In this time, prep your breasts (split em, bone em, skin if necessary). At 30 minutes, toss them into the pot, bring the pot back up to boil, slap lid on, reduce the heat as low as it can go. Now either simmer for about 25 or 30 minutes or simmer for about 10 or 15 minutes, then turn off the heat entirely and let them sit for another 30 minutes. Then drain and do whatever (you can wrap them and freeze individually or just containerize in the fridge if they'll be eaten up in less than a week). I think you'll find the chicken has a LOT more flavor and comes out quite moist. One of the easiest ways I've found to defrost is to toss the frozen breast on top of whatever veggies you're steaming, it usually takes about 4 minutes for a whole breast if not too large.
