Barbell curl question

Sub-Zero

High End Bro

i went to the gym today, and i was doing bicep curls in the powerrack and i saw some guy near me holding the barbell palms to the sky (basically his hands were "backwards" overhand) -he was also swinging his back really bad and cheating like a mofo so i figured he didnt know what he was doing-

but my questions are:

1: is this a real exersise? if so what is the name?

2: what would this exersise work? the forarms and outer bicep/peak perhaps?

3: is the outerbicep the part that peaks, or is that the inner bicep, or is there no difference..

3.5: in a slight manner, my right "inner bicep" seems to be bigger than the outer, but the peak weird outer part on my left is a bit bigger than the outside of the right, but because of the size of the inner (it seems like the inner is bigger at least) my right is bigger than my left a bit.

does this have to do witht he way i hold the dumbells in the different hands when doing isolation curls, or should it not really matter that much, or is it genetic- OR, when i train more, and they start to even out and the left "fills out more" will they look the same

i know pmy post was kinda weird, so ill give special-k to people who help, thanks

Special K?! I'm your man! LOL.

I think what you described were reverse curls (although when doing these, your palms are down...not toward the sky. If they were towards the sky, wouldn't they be regular curls?)

These emphasize the brachioradialis...a muscle in the forearm that crosses the elbow.

All that other stuff is probably just in your head...or it's genetic.

Reverse curls work really well at the end of a bicep tri-set.

start it off with close grip ez-bar curls, immediately go to open dumbell curls on the preacher (arms supinated...exaggerate the up curl outwards by twisting pinky out to shoulder), then end with reverse curls. Do about 3 sets of this tri-set and guarantee your shit will be screaming! :mix:
