Bad to do cardio the day after hard leg training?

Just wondering if any of you guys do cardio the day following a hard leg workout? I did legs today and want to take tommorrow off from training and get in a half hour cardio session in the morning. If my legs are sore, should I push through it or lets the legs rest? I am trying to lose some bf so on my days off from the weights I like to get an AM cardio session in.

Cardio or no cardio if the legs are sore?

I say let them rest. Try to do cardio that doesn't involve working your legs too much. I myself when I cant do 'normal' cardio because of sore legs, I shadow box. That gives me a good cardio workout.

I definetely won't be hopping on the stairmaster, but I was thinking a light jog, walking on incline, or eliptical.

Light cardio seems to make my legs heal quicker because it gets the blood into them, but if the intensity gets to high my legs will be sore for days.

Screw it..... 7 am tommorrow I will be on the machine burning it up. Normally when I plan for a light cardio session, I end up with an all out HIIT session

sry forgot to answer, bad night.... if you do i would go light as said earlier, fast walk on incline jmo

Well I am the only one that does this I guess. BUT I do leg cardio after a squat day. Stairstepper. Bike. For this reason. The more blood that I can get cicrulating through the muscle the more white blood cells will be able to repair the muscle. I dont go crazy with it but a slow steady speed. At first its hard but after awhile you will feel fine. If it hurts DONT DO ANYTHING. But soreness is a whole different story. Seems to speed up my recovery. Go for a good walk maybe.

thats sound advice right there. i myself always do cardio on leg day, regardless of wether i feel like puking. i find that the following day i'm almost never sore, and i think thats due to the cardio. :coffee:
