Back Progress through bulking (pics)

Just took some more progress pictures today to examine my back... I am definitely fatter than August 1st when I took my last set of back shots.. SO my bodyfat is a little on the high side.. but I've changed up my diet so hopefully i don't get much fatter.. :D

I've been doing weighted chin ups through the wazoo.... My lats just do not like to flare out for some reason... genetics are a bitch i guess... I'm just gunna keep hammering them.

I don't know if its because the picture is double the size, but you look like you're heaps bigger now than in August. What's the weight difference?

I can relate to lats not flaring or appearing wide :)

hit some pulldowns, deadlifts, and some barbell rows. deadlifts will help thicken the back if not the rack deads. db rows will help as well...fuck it..just to a shitload of rows brotha and your lats flare out by them fuckin selves!! tb

Weighted chins are good and bent rows wide and narrow grip work well too.

One thing that will flare your lats out quite nicely is to do your weighted pulls and then jump to pulley station and do stiff arm pullovers. Concentration on flaring the lats as you do the movement.

You can also do bent rows and do either this movement or dumbell pullovers supersetted. Your lats will tire more quickly, but they will adapt and in a month or two the difference in your lat spread will be evident.

I stopped doing deadlifts in June.. I just got burnt out doing
them...
I'll try taking a picture later like you said colin..

Current weight is 193-194 lbs @ 5'10
Old weight was 183 ?? maybe cant remember

My current back routine is now like this

Tue
3x5 bent over rows
3xfailure weighted chins (bodyweight +20)
2x10 standing single arm rows (some row machine by nautilos)

Fri
2x8 Hypers
3x8 seated rows
3x8 Lat Pulldowns

Nice progress man. Looks like you gained some good thickness.

In that second pic, are you just leaning, or is everything in that room crooked? lol

I think the camera is crooked.. lol... On both the first two actually.. lol Damn auto pictures...

Are those "SAlty" brand boardshorts?
Nope... those are "Champion" Tear away track pants... I've had them for like 7 years.. I actually just rediscovered them today... They have so many rips and tears.. its great

Back looks thicker to me! Great Job!

Looking much thicker.

My gut has also gotten thicker! LOL.. I'm still 10 lbs short of my record gut size... I would prefer not to head back to that weight unless its nice and lean.

Thanks for all the comments guys.. Hopefully in another 3 months my lats are popping out...

I keep looking back and forth between the 1st and 3rd picture and find it hard to believe how much difference there is in 5 months... I can't even believe my back looked so thin less than half a year ago.... (once again, i know I'm a plump bastard now.. but still...)

way to stick with it

slow down on chins and pull downs, really work on feeling the stretch and contraction

and NO CHEATING! the movement

that helped my lats (i also have crummy lats)
