Well I've just started getting back into real training for the first time in 5 months. Thanks to a torn tricep in the middle of August, I was able to do virtually NOTHING until just the last two weeks.
The loss of muscle function and nervous system ability has me absolutely horrified. I didn't lose that much muscle mass over the 5 months... maybe 5-10 lbs. But the muscle I retained is virtually useless. Before the injury I was doing 3x8 with 315 lbs on bench. Yesterday I did 3x8 with 135 and my chest was on FIRE at the end of each set! I also notice that my body is really resistant to getting into that training "zone." It's like I'm on drugs when I'm in the weightroom... just sort of floating around lost and not able to accomplish much.
I know its gonna take time but I just thought I'd vent.
