Back day: Deads or Rack Pulls?

Deads, rack pulls or alternate? Currently I am doing deads on back day. But I am doing them on the smith right now while my knee finishes healing to 100%(surgery). I see no point in doing both on back day but do you guys have a preference? if so , why?
Never actually done rack pulls but I am starting.

I prefer doing deads first, them when I stop progressing I'll switch to rack pulls and vice-versa, i do keep them @ low reps and i only do deads and rack pulls to get stronger not for bodybuilding purposes, if it was for bodybuilding I would go for rack pulls all the way sets of 8 or more reps.

Good luck recovering from that surgery!

i use deads and rack pulls on hamstring day myself. i use them for power, usually stopping at 5 reps per set max and using singles quite often (depending on the training phase im in). straight leg deads ill do up to 20 rep sets.

i never use deads or rack pulls for bbing means. too many muscles working at once in my opinion.

I have been using deads on back day because I still havnt been able to squat yet. So my leg day has been consisting of just goddamn leg presses. Dont get me wrong I do actually get alot from leg presses. Plus my quads are 28" cold even when I'm not doing legs that often so I'm not too concerned. Doing deads on back day for the last 4-6 weeks(since I have been able) has really started to put mass on my back nicely. Then I move into heavy BB rows and then heavy close/reverse grip pull downs. The deads make my back day feel "worth it".

IF I were doing rack pulls for BB purposes, I'd do them with straps, double overhand grip, and hold my reps at the top for a second or two and hold the last rep at the top for as long as I could.

Other than that...I can't see why you would want to do rack pulls instead of full pulls.
