Will post my impressions afterwards.

*edit- Well worth it. Take all the best parts from the other Marvel flicks and put them together, and it'd still be a cut or two below what they put together here. Everything from the writing to the effects fired on all cylinders. Also the best 3D effort since Avatar imo. The credits for the crew that worked on depth effects alone took up half the screen. They took the "windowed" approach ie non-invasive, so it was basically like watching the thing take place inside of a digital stage. The only noticeable misstep involved R. Downey Jr's nose (you'll know when you see it). Probably going to see it again in the D-box theater across town. That will really be a ride for some of the flying scenes.

Also, be sure to stick through the end credits. That's all I've got to say about that lol.

Might be the best comic book movie ever....but probably not. :) Hell, i never thought Steve Jackson could pull off of LOTR in a credible fashion.

indeed

Feel free to refer to me as an ogre in all non- sci fi/fantasy threads...:)

Bump.

hoping to go see it this weekend but who knows..it'll depend on getting a sitter

def. want to see this, but i hate the long lines and crowded theaters that blockbuster releases involve. is this going to be super popular? might have to wait for a late sunday or monday night deal.

Absolutely fantastic! Best superhero movie ever.

Not surprisingly it was Downey's show but Chris Evan's squeaky clean, 1940's values Captain Amerrican shined just as brightly.

Ruffalo was very good as reluctant member Bruce Banner and CGI Hulk was amazing.

The movie is full of crowd pleasing moments and even Scarlett Johansson gets a great scene in the beginning.

This is just an all-around good film; even for non-geeks who aren't into comic book adapted movies.

I saw it at midnight opening night... Great movie except it was ruined by all the fucking super nerd fags clapping and cheering every 5 goddamn seconds that something cool happened on the screen.
