At Five Guys tonight...

Mr DB my god you have sold that place short. Last time I got a burger there it was twice as much as say a big Mac but it was twice as big. But it was also cheaper than say a chilis burger. IMO it's the best place to get a burger out at least. I think I make a better one but that means I have to shop, prep, cook then eat. God damn it now I want one and I'm on another strict diet.

I just meant that it's a very simple formula. They've taken a fast-food menu, but they execute it with real, unprocessed materials and some quality.

I guess I just wonder who Five Guys is trying to target with that kind of playlist on their piped-in music?

I'm guessing they want a generation (or two) that might think twice about paying more for a burger (even if it is higher quality)...but might do so if the ambiance is superior in addition to the food.

ive noticed a lot of burger places play classic rock. hamburgers are considered good ol' fashioned american food, and the corporations wish to remind people of this.

ftr i listen to classic rock all the time, as well as the new music you hate. and if you don't think any electronic music producers are making quality songs, and that musical talent suddenly just evaporated after 1980, you are pretty ignorant.

I'm not a teenager, but I grew up listening to classic rock, southern rock, and country. I'm a music nerd to this day.

I understand this. The difference is that you have to look for the good music now, when I was a kid you could actually use radio to find good new stuff. Radio is a dead medium now.

Anyway my point has nothing to do with whether or not one generation's music is "better" than another's, but just surprise that any young people would actually choose to listen to my generation's noise. I certainly wasn't listening music from the 1920s when I was a kid.

Crap now I want a juicy burger with lots of ketchup. thanks Mr db.

Me too! They opened up a Five Guys about 45 minutes from here...it seems ridiculous to drive that far for burgers with gas costing what does right now, but I have to admit that I'm very tempted.

It's okay, but not worth a 45 minute drive. And they probably don't have poutine anyway.

Ketchup? Uck. I get my cheeseburgers with mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Please tell me you don't put ketchup on hotdogs too?
