arnold 75 or him 1980??

THIS is the way an IFBB pro's waiste SHOULD look.>>>

My girl would say "thats how all men should look" LOL she says that whenever I watch Pumping Iron. As for the pro thing, I think thats the way all the pro's should still look now. That is perfection. Not one single pro from the 70's look bad. From Ken Waller to Frank Zane, they all looked great.

Tiger, I think he could have been. If you take away the bloated guts and THICK waists, todays guys aren't that much bigger. The thick blocky waists make them appear bigger, but they really aren't. Arnold has just about any pro beat on pecs, calfs and arms. With some higher dosages, and more work, he could have matched them on back and thighs as well. A slightly bigger Arnold, with that waist? He would kill anything on stage.

god, imagine if arnold had access to some of the newer drugs/methods current olympia contenders do...

they didn't have access to the lasix/gh/tren/synth/ or a lot of the intense rx diuretics back then did they?

They probably had it.

"Lasix, introduced in 1967 to veterinary practitioners, was the first or "pioneer" furosemide product."

In my opinion Arnold and other pros from that era set the "appropriate" fantastic standards with their physiques – he looked amazing – the archetypal muscular form. Most of todays pro's, who are much bigger, don't look as impressive.

The one Corn posted is from the 75 O, not 74. Here's some pics of him in 1974. He was 240-245 there. He was 232 in Pumping Iron. I think he looked best in 69 in the movie Hercules in New York. He must have been 250 or so in it. He may not have been as sharp as he was in the 70's, but he was much thicker. You can buy it for $5.88 at walmart. It's worth the buy just to see how awesome Arnold looked at 22.

Here's one from the 74 O, and some random pics from the 73-74 era:

Robby recently posted on his board that Arnold would get up to 260-270 in the off season during the early 70's, and still be very hard.

I used to think Arnold got small in the offseason, but after reading his book, the only time he ever took off training was when he shot Stay Hungry, and got down to 210lbs. Alot of pics of him smaller in red shorts and red tanktop were taking during that time, and around 77. He wrote that he never stopped, even after a contest. He was constantly after gaining more size, detail, etc. He was always looking to add more weight to the bar. So much for the shit that midget Lee Preist talks about Arnold used to only train 3 months before a contest.

He was and still is a hard worker. Simply amazing. Even for T3 he went back to Worlds Gym with Franco and Eddie Guilliani. He couldn't train heavy anymore, so he did higher reps and short rest periods. He did the old 6 day a week double split. The results showed, he looked just like he did in the 80's.

no - its not....do a search for Mr olympia 1974

Awesome shots C3!!! I didnt see your '73 shot until I had already posted. He was 100% dead on perfect in '73. In the rear shot see that thickness in the lats?? Damn! Yep the more streamlined thighs were an asthetic choice in the '70's and frankly I prefer that look. At some point the gigantic quad sweep just becomes comical.

No, it's from the 75 Posedown shown in Pumping Iron. Look in the encylopedia of bodybuilding, go to the section of posing. He shows pics on how to do defensive posing. He uses pics from the 75 Olympia in Pumping Iron. The pic you posted is the 6 pic, on the third page. Franco is kneeling, so you can't see the 75, but he clearly states that it is the 75 O, and in all the other pics, you can see the 75 part.

If you don't have the book, watch Pumping Iron you will see for yourself. :)

I'm sure someone else has the bible of bodybuilding. Page 641, bottom pic.
