Are there any sort've sparring drills one could practice with another outside of martial arts classes, other than general sparring? If so, what are they?

not sure if this would be interesting to you or not,but bas rutens mma workout video is very good,I can try and host it on yousendit if anyone is interested

you can practice footwork
keeping the other guy in front of you or circling him
my footwork sucks so I usually like to try and practice it whenver I can w/out the other problems of sparring getting in my way

theres tons of stuff you can do outside of the gym. what do you want to work on?

some drills we do in a mock sparring environment are things like one person only using foot sweeps, not using your favorite techniques, only using one technique, one person not resisting, going back and forth exchanging techniques, just gripping, just foot sweeps stuff like that.. and all of that you can pretty much modify regardless of style just set up what type of rules or what not and go for it and you obviously do not need to go 100% to get a lot out of them so play safer when you are outside your gym.

I'm downloading the file now, Oak. Thanks. It's fuckin' huge, uch.

Judo Tom - I didn't have anything in particular in mind. I wanted to know the types of drills a person could practice, either alone, or with a friend, in order to condition yourself to becoming better in the ring.

Obviously the best time you could spend would be in a class, but right now I can't fit that in. I guess I thought more along the lines of the basics - things that normal people (those who don't fight) need to become accustomed to. For example, someone who boxes is used to having jabs thrown at them. It becomes second nature to bob and weave out of the way, and they don't flinch as much as people who never had a strike thrown their way.

Anything like that you can think of to condition a non-fighter?
