Are there a lot of calories in donair

Hi,
donair has been my lunch and dinner back up for long time when I'm in a rush at work or college, not too long ago I got my cholesterol checked out and it is a bit high, and the doctor told me I'm pounds 15 over weight for my height, is donair something you shouldn't have too often? or it is considered a good and healthy meal replacement?

An regular sized donair will have around 700 calories and 30g of fat. The majority of the fat is saturated fat which is terrible for cholesterol levels.

Any donair from a fast food or donair shop is not healthy at all. The donair meat is full of fat and the donair sauce is full of empty calories and very high in sugar.

Donairs are basically fast food. They are not healthy and shouldnt be regularly included in your diet.

If you like donairs, you could very easily make a sort of 'mock' healthy donair. Buy a 100% whole grain corn tortilla and fill it with slice chicken breast, and veggies. I like to add lettuce, pickles and tomatoes. I then add mustard to it.

The condiments mustard, soy sauce and hot sauce have no calories per serving and can be eaten to your hearts content while trying to loose body weight.

Consider it as a cheatmeal, if you are following a proper diet.

Thats at least what I would call it.

I can not tell exacly how many calories are there in a donair, but it is definitely not a healthy thing to use. After all, it is not only about the calories that are found in a meal, but also about the macro-profile of the product, and I am sure that a donair will have some unhealthy macros. Therefore, consider it as a cheatmeal that you can ocassionally eat, but definitely not something to be consumed on a regular basis.
