as long as you don't go near wood piles, the eaves of your house, or cardboard boxes you should be safe from me.
i am not aggressive. i will, however, bite instinctively when touched or pressed, so it's important to be very careful when working around areas where i may be established.
there have been stories handed down about me in regards to killing and eating my mate after mating. whether this happens occasionally, regularly, or not at all is not known
but is how i got my name. i rarely leave my web, i stay close to my egg mass and will attack and bite if disturbed or if i sense my eggs are in danger. i will kill the male if he dares to venture too close to my precious egg sac.
