The Whole F/N Show said:This is why roommates should sign contracts just like you would for any other business aggreement. But you can take her to small claims court and argue your case stating that you had an oral agreement. I'm guessing both your names are on the lease so Joncrane's suggest probably won't work because you'd just be screwing yourself.
I'm confusing. Is she still leaving there? Either way. the fact she signed a lease showed her intent to live there and be good enough proof in court.
Okay..
Whole F'N show...she does not 'live' here, physically, but her stuff is still in her room...and she has this gosh awful Hello Kitty crap in the guest bathroom, too. So...her stuff is here, but she is NOT.
Steroid Virgin...that would be a good idea...but too easy!

bigschweeler...I could hold her stuff...but she did say that she was going to pay a third of the rent for April...which will be the last month that she is going to be living here. BUT...if I screw with her stuff after she has paid her portion of the rent...that would be screwing myself because she could take me to court for vandalism or something crazy like that. Believe me...I just want to set her crap outside the apartment and let it rot.
Peyote...see my response above...
GLADIATOR...she gave me no deposit....we got lucky and did not have a security deposit on this apartment. So...that's a no go.
Joncrane...that WOULD work...but we each write our own check to the apt. office. She is basically screwing me over...like I said.
I think I am going to call her mom because she and I are way more likely to have an adult conversation that her daughter and I. I plan on making it known to her that her daughter is being difficult and if she continues to be stupid about it...I will not hesitate to take her to small claims court.
Whole F'N Show...we did make a verbal agreement...and also...she wanted out of the lease before we signed a new one in December...but she somehow...failed to mention that then.
