Anyone Use Nubain???

detoxing is one of the key elements in the recovery process. the misery that i went thru is almost enough in itself to stay sober. Alcoholics Anonymous is the REAL solution.

Stay away from the narcotics - Not worth it.
See the movie smashing machine - its a good one on a fighter getting hooked.

I know Mark Kerr. We have a lot of mutual friends in the bodybuilding/cagefighting community here in AZ. That documentary was more than just about Nubain-it was being in an insane sport, w/ a fucked up alcoholic, girlfriend too which only made shit worse. At least he had a support group to get him into rehab. I'm alone in this world-all of my relatives are dead-so I never had anybody close to pressure me into quitting. In fact, the people in my social circles don't believe that I ever had a problem cuz I hid it so well. I'm just glad my dealer ran out of stuff when he did and I was strong enough to kick on my own.

Im glad you came off that crap bro, very bad drug. I have a friend who is hooked on it right now, and has been for at least 4-5 years now. He used to have a great physique, now he looks like a crackhead. Feel bad for him, he overdosed 2x already..He is also using oxys, and vics too!!

Fuck. That's sad. Email him a link to this thread. It might help him see through the drug haze.

oxycotin is stronger than heroin. its so bad. anyone that has overcome an OC addiction i gove mad props to. there is nothing in this world thats more lonely, cold, torturing, and painful than a hard core opiate addiction.

at the end of narcotics ananomous they always have a moment of silence for an addict that dies that minute. i wish we were all safe from these temptations in life. because once you know what that warm amazing feeling feels like you will always be tempted by it. You can always be strong and stay the course, but you'll always know that its right there. "Playing the whole tape through" in what really happens after that first use up untill rehab is what helps me stay the course. that, and lifting of course! peace

I doubt he would even know how to get on the internet, the way he is now. I feel bad for the guy, and he has a young daughter too. My friends and I tried to get him help, but he doesnt want it. Says he is fine. What can you do?

Anyone with a true opiate dependency issue and is looking end addiction should consult with their physician and look into treatment with Subutex (Buprenorphine HCL), a kapa-opiod receptor antagonist as well as a partial mu-opiod receptor agonist, or Suboxone (Buprenorphine HCL/Naloxone HCL Dihydrate), a mu-opiod receptor antagonist. The immediate goal of treatment is to minimize and/or prevent withdrawl symptoms.

I'd have to disagree. U need to experience the withdrawls and remember the pain and agony that this opiate put u through! Minimizing or preventing the witdrawls disassociates the drug from the pain. It makes going back on that much easier.

its called tough love my friend. tell him you cant be his friend and that you are not going to condon his behavior. If nothing changes then nothing changes. If he gets to keep all his friends then why change? he gets to have his cake and eat it too.

Guys, i am new to this board, but I have been around the block. I wresteld in college, and have been doing MMA on and off for quite some time. I also do know quite a few MMA peoples as well as BBs from back in the day (Paul DeMayo I saw when I was quite young in the Wolds in Dedham, as well as Mattarazzo, etc.)

So many people have opiate habits, its not even funny, Nubain, H, Oxy's. Sorry for the soap opera, but let me tell you a little story about where this can take you. I started taking vics back when i was 27 years old for chronic bain and a myriad of surguries from sports injuries. They then started to prescribe me Oxycontin 80mgs (started with 2 a day). This went on for some time and I developed a habit without even knowing it (by then I was up to 5 80s a day). They then cut me off at the doctor and I started getting them at my work (in IT consulting back then, I was a VP of sales). My now illegal Oxy habit eventually turned into up to 20 80s a day (yes thats right). I was also by now tinkering in Dliaudid, Fentanyl, and Heroin when I could not get. The weird this is that I still maintianed a good physique and still trained consistiently (5'8'' and 220 with MMA 2-3 times a week).

I finally got fired from my 300K a year job because of taking xanax and Methadone to combat the withdrawls (I would nod off in the middle of meetings). I also got caught with like 300 Oxy's in my car and was sent away for 3 months to a min. security drug court/rehab in upstate NYC (with career felons and all, I had no record at the time). No matter though, I got out and tried to recover, but relapsed on H and was arrested in Paterson NJ with H and my Glock 40 (I had a permit in CT, but not in NJ). 2 weeks in Passaic county jail and now a Felon. This was one year ago.

To amke this long story short, do not ever think that nothing can happen to you. All actions have reactions. I thank god that I am working at the same level I once was (small SW companies do not do extensive background checks), and I am now training better than ever.

I hope this would help anyone who is thinking of trying any Opiates. Especially for us who train who are obsessive by nature.
