Tryin to study for this quiz on monday.

When are Yo Estoy, Tu Estas, El/ella esta, Nostoros Estamos used
vs
Yo Soy Tu Eres, Usted Es, Nostros Somos, etc

Seems like the first is used to tell someone where you are
The second set is used to tell someone about yourself, or about someone else

is that right?
any other uses?

I think Yo Soy is I am, You are, etc and Estoy is something else, like have....

Sorry I forget & my stepdaughter never gave me back my Spanish English dictonary...

Estar(estoy, etc) is for a temporary "being"..i.e. you are feeling a certain way or are in a certain place.

Er(Soy,etc) is used to describe permanent "being". For instance, I am cuban is "Yo Soy Cubano" or My nombre es is "My name is....".
