Man, lately I get so damn dizzy in the gym its really kind of scary. Then when I feel dizzy i get really anxious which makes it alot worse. It is driving me crazy...what the hell can i do, and am i the only one?!!!

nope was feeling this way today. so i stopped and left work. feel real fucked up today. must be the sleeping pills i took last night. felt like shit this morning, took some dymetadrine xtreme, and felt worse. did a few sets, was done. went home. need to relax. :(

Have you been taking anything before going to the gym (i.e. caffeine, ephedrine, etc.) Sometimes taking to much of that can make you very anxious.

well, i took one pill of ephedrine...that does tend to make me anxious, but not at that low a dosage. I dont know, but when i start straining alot especially really heavy weights, it starts hitting me. I hope its mostly mental and not some shit with my heart or something?

Are you breathing correectly throughout the set? I have a mate who kept getting dizzy whenever he finished a set, and upon closer inspection he was holding his breath for the entire set. When his breathing was on track, he was fine.

Holding your breath will definately make you dizzy after a set

Just sounds like you are not breathing properly during your heavy sets. Happens to me once in a while. The worst was when I took a jab of Sust 10 minutes before I worked out. For some reason it made me so dizzy I can damn close to passing out cold in the gym.

happens to me when I do squats. Then I found out I have to friggen breathe when I'm working out the biggest muscle group in the body. Breathe, yes, definetly breathe.

I get that way after bent over rows, usually have to grab on to the power rack when i'm done until the blood returns to my head. The reults are worth the pain though!!!

I'm not sure what time of day you are training, but I cannot train early morning. I asked my doc about it, and he thinks my BP is low in the morning combined with fasting at nighttime sleep = blowing chunks lol. I try to train mid-day, and drink plenty of fluids well before workout to handle any de-hydration issues. Be sure to give yourself ample time to recover as lactic acid build up can make one nauseous. Oh, and like everyone said, breath :)

Well, I guess i am glad im not the only one out there feeling like this! Maybe its just a sign of really hitting it hard! Thanks for the replys.

Any change in blood sugar will make you dizzy. I get dizzy when I lift early in the morning without eating, which I only do when I'm in a hurry. I don't do it often.
