Anyone here workout/lift with their girl?

I train with my girl, she loves it. Same lifts and all that she just lowers the weights and only does as many sets as she feels like that day. Its actually a good way to spend time together.
 
I wish my girlfriend would go workout with me, or without me. Either one. Maybe i should trade her in. I think the warranty is still good.

The San Francisco treat.
 
I tried.... but my wife didn't really want to work all the same muscle groups that I do.

She just wants to run on the treadmill and then work her legs and arms.

She also didn't want to have to keep changing the weights between sets, even though I said I'd do all the changing.
 
I would never train with my girl unless she was seriously hardcore, or if she was off doing her own thing...when I'm training I'm focused....I would go to the gym at a seperate time to help my girl maybe, but unlikely I'd ever train WITH her.
 
My wife spots me on occasion, and we have worked out together before. We avoided it for a long time because we work in the same dept, so we used this time for ourselves. But, I think we might end up working out together more often.
We each have our own agenda, and help/spot each other as needed. She's my best friend, so it's like workin' out with your buddy.

Wow. I usually end up doing 70% of the weight changing just to keep things moving along.

well said frack, when you move we all need to start training together...

anyway, like kronk said we train together a lot but usually we are off on our own...we are both so damn intense that its difficult to train sometimes...he spots me when i go over 250 on my squats etc, and i spot him on his heavy dumbell work, thats about it...

the most important thing is that we bulk and cut at the same time...its keeps us going and we always are eating the same stuff...
 
I trained with my wife for 10 years... and have had a couple other girls I've trained with over the years. Women can EASILY handle spotting you on any exercise you need.
 
Thanks for all the replies guys, looks to me like its about half good and half bad experiences. She's never really been on any type of training split before but she recently lost quite a bit of BF on her own from diet and cardio. My old training partner can no longer work out in the evenings so Iiv've taken like the last 3-4 weeks off. I practically live with my girl and we're like best friends so I thought it would be cool, we could kinda motivate each other. And since I pretty much live with her we could motivate each other on the whole diet thing as well. I think we're going to try working out together at first and if that doesnt work we'll do it on our one. If nothing else the membership ($30/mo)will pay off for her if she only tans and does a little cardio 4 days a week.
