Anyone here take a CIA/FBI/NSA polygraph?

what if you stole a bracelet or something dumb when you are a kid?

You would have to answer yes, even though you have never really stolen anything, at least in your adult life. lol. Would that automatically raise a red flag or keep you from getting clearance? who could live up to such standards?

Nah....I know people who admitted to doing illegal things that still got TS/SCI clearance (the highest level). The biggest hurdle is showing honesty as well as mental stability and not having anything in your past or present that could be used against you by an outside force to gain classified information. Of course it depends on what the activity was, how long ago it was, etc...but something like that wouldn't matter for shit. They only ask about the past ten years, anyway.

We had a guy with 5 DWI's, and he got one in law school, and was still admitted to the bar lol

I think the key is being honest and not having any large skeletons in your closet. I was devious when I was 17 years old and younger. I changed my ways though. Learning things the hard way is the sometimes the best way to learn.

(shrug) well maybe the polygraph part is different, but my understanding is that TS/SCi only goes back that far as far as the investigation part goes. Still, cindy stealing a bracelet when she was a wee one wouldn't matter.

I hope not lol

Never took any of those test, but I did traverse the rice paper without leaving and mark, then grab a pebble from the master's hand. :)

Thanks. I finally found a site that actually had some listed. It was tough to find it though.

I've read up a lot on it and it doesn't seem all that reliable.
AV its not... its just a form of intimadation that they use.. The US court systems have deemed it unconstitutional....

all dependent on what level of clearance a person is getting.

I'll PM you with some questions when I am done researching this stuff.

I checked our the American Bar site and they had some info on how unreliable it is.

I am not really worried about it. I am the type that prepares for everything ahead of time. I'll be looking for a job next summer and rather head to corporate finance I think I am going to hit up the CIA, FBI, or maybe the SEC and see what they offer. I am tired of reading 100 page research reports. I want some action.

On another note, like some questions I have seen ask if you have stolen anything.

I can't list the times I have pilfered something. For example, in the military we would be doing patrols during exercises and hit the visiting troops at night and take everything. One time we got away with four new HUMVEE tires (took them off the damn thing while the other guys were sleeping 50 feet away lol) If they ask me if I have stolen something, what the hell d? I say "Yes" and during the interview they are going to ask "What and how many times?" I'll have a laundry list lol

Perhaps I am being paranoid.

At least I don't need to worry about the homosexual questions lol
