Anyone here from Columbus OH?

Possibly planning on a big move soon. Looking for advice on neighborhoods, job outlook, things to do, etc. Been there a couple times for the Arnold Classic, but besides that I'm curious what the city is like otherwise. Thanks...
 
I live in North Columbus, right by Westerville. Thats a nice area i can recommend. The west side and down around 4th and 5th ave. down town are the worst, so i wouldnt move there. right by hillard is nice too

Thanks. How long have you lived there. Pros? Cons? I'll be moving from a vacation area(beach, sun). Thanks again...

Used to be on here all the time. Fell out of the boards and bodybuilding for a good while, but I'm eager to get back into both...

Don't move anywhere near OSU campus. The campus is nice but the neighborhood righ outside it past high st and some native american named street is pretty rough

not a problem, i actually tested for a position with the city of westerville, if i got hired i was going there no doubt

Have they ever lived anywhere else? I've lived in a big city, then a beach town. Sick of this place now and would have moved a long time ago if it wasn't for my family here. Sucks to leave them now, but I'm going to go mad if I have to stay much longer...
 
I don't live in Columbus, but from my visits any of the suburbs are very nice.

Yes .... various places throughout their lives .... Chicago, Hew Hampshire, Rochester, Durham (NC), Chapel Hill (NC)

They like OH, but their BIG problem with it is lack of sun. Which, I think, would be an issue with you, coming from a beach. The winters are not HORRIBLY cold, but they are very grey. From Oct-April it is often overcast.

What they do like about it is that it is a city, but not horribly overcrowded.

I'm originally from PA so I can take the cold and dreary weather. The beach is ok, but if you live there you almost never go. I've only been there maybe twice this year so far and I'm 5 minutes away. I miss the change of seasons and also snow believe it or not. I'm sure all of my opinions will change again once I get back up there. But for now I'm fed up with the almost constant summer and tourists...

Thanks everyone. Looks like I'll be heading back up north in the next month or so. My buddy is up there already and has offered me a job making alot more than I'll be making now. I think the change will do me good...
