Anyone ever read Of Mice and Men?

I just finished reading it for my English class and got to say that I shed a few tears when George put the gun to Lennie's head. I liked the book though. Anyone else read it? If so, what did you think?

I read that back in high school, 10th or 11th grade. Can't say I cried, but I did make fun of it.
It was a good book though.

tell em about the rabbits george, and how we're gonna live off the fat of the land.

whats that book about?

ps...i gotta go get my glove and put vaseline in it, my hands just get too rough.

I get engulfed in what I read, most novels anyway, and to understand the book more I picture me as the main character. As I was reading the part near the end w/ the Luger I kind of imagined what George was going through and it brought some tears to my eyes.

The book is pretty much about a man, George, and a slow guy, Lennie, who George has to take care of. Lennie always gets in trouble and holds George back from moving up in the world. Lennie finally gets into trouble that George can't get him out of and does what he has to do.

yeah...read it in high school

Never got the symbolism of shooting the old dog until I re-read it. Powerful stuff.
