I'm 4.8% bf, and I don't use any less than 1" needles. Even with no body fat, you still have 1/4" of skin layers & epidermis, then the muscle sheath before the muscle tissue you want to inject. I normally use 22g 1" for delts* & quads, and 22g 1.5" for glutes.
*I have thick delts, so for anyone with low bf and more average delts, it's probably better to go with 3/4". You don't want to go into the shoulder joint space!
