Anyone else "nonplussed" by watchmen?

I was. I mean Rorshach may be the greatest character in a movie of all time...........but other than him I thought everyone else was fucking retarded. I had high hopes for blue boy, but all you got out of him was an eye full of blue cawk everywhere he went. THe movie would have ruled if they hadn't had him don his codpiece when he went 50ft tall. It would have been sweet to see him cawkslap a building and have it crumble............meh, it was an alright movie at best. I definitely don't regret seeing it, but I have no need to see it again like I did the Dark Knight.......now there was a fucking well acted movie.

By the way, did anyone recognize Rorschach? We couldn't figure it out where we'd seen him, so my one friend checked him out on his blackberry on the way home..........he was the stoner from Semi pro, the one who hit the half court shot....:lmao:

I hope that dude lands many roles from his take on rorshach, fucking amazing.....and the only reason to go see that movie.

"I'm not locked in her with you.........you're locked in here WITH ME!!!"

I went and saw it over the weekend. I agree that Rorschach was the better then all the rest. Would I recommend going to go see it? Hell no, save your money.

yeah, it wasn't exactly the big moral societal statement movie that they made it out to be. Great soundtrack though

i bitched about the blue cock in jack angel's watchman thread and just got flamed

It honestly wasn't that big of a distraction. It was amusing and then I just forgot about it because I don't make a habit of meat gazing......especially when I know the dude's wang is probably hanging out. But it was brought back to my attention 2/3 of the way through the movie when some guy behind me finally said "jesus put some pants on"........I had a giggle fit for the next 3 minutes. I have to say I was hoping for some kind of a physical altercation between him and ozzymandias at the end so we can see an eastern promises' style naked beatdown with man meat flipping about. That's still one of the most hysterical scenes I've ever seen........Viggo p'wning two dudes "BUTT NAKED". It would have been sweet watching manhatten teabag mandias, definitely would have picked the movie up a bit.

Ive been a big watchmen fan since I was a kid

Snyder did an amazing adaptation of a truly classic, very very deep, and previously unfilmable movie.

I am personally glad they changed the ending to what it was. The original ending in the book of Veidt teleporting in a huge telepathic squid that kills 1/2 of new york would have taken another entire movie just to explain why there is even a giant telepathic squid in existence in the first place.

giant telepathic squid QUOTE]

huh? wtf?

In the book, instead of using Dr Manhattans powers to kill everyone they teleport some giant squid to do it.

And Rorshach was played by Jackie Earl Haley, who was in Bad News Bears back in the day...got the job after he almost won an Oscar for Little Children playing a child molestor about 3 years ago.

and where pray tell did this giant telepathic squid come from? And how did this play out in the book seeing as that in the movie, the big thing was that everyone beleived it was dr manhattan that blew everything up, so that's why the nuclear war between russia and the U.S never happened. How did a giant telepathic squid stop the war? That's actually pretty god damn funny.

The novel was amazing, the movie was good, I don't mind that they switched the ending, do not see the reason why, but it was not as bad as I thought it would be, it is all political progranda, meh meh meh .....

I thought the comic series was better than the movie. The movie deleted most of the character development and missed one of the main points about the Minutemen... none of them were intrinsically good. They were all acting out their neuroses through their superheroism, except Rorschack. The only thing he hated more than humanity was crime. I thought the movie makers did a great disservice when deleting the entire storyline from "Tales of The Black Freighter", the tale about the guy slowly giving up his scruples in desperation to save his home town. I enjoyed the movie though.
