Anyone else eat "raw" honey before working out?

The guy was amazing.
Probably 60. 5'6" 165. He could outlift anyone due to a breathing technique he learned. He used to say all your strength comes from channeling oxygen into the muscles.

Few people realize the importance of proper breathing. Without 02 your body will not be able to properly utilize the energy available in your bloodstream. A simple sugar is absorbed IMMEDIATELY so your bloodstream is flooded with energy. But if you don't have enough 02, your energy utilization will not be maximized....

*sigh*

I can't tell you how many times over the years I have stood over people trying to help them get breathing down...

Where they blue in the face while holding that breath?Drives me crazy when I see 'em huffin it.

Some yes... then there were those that couldn't get a proper rhythm.

"Exhale as you do the effort."

"EXHALE AS YOU DO THE EFFORT."

"Breathe in ...... Breath out..... Breathe in ...... Breath out.....Breathe in ...... Breath out..... Breathe in ...... Breath out....."


The only time I ever got annoyed is when they really weren't trying. :rolleyes:

Interestingly enough, I found that the clients who had the biggest challenges (as in limitations of some sort) were also the ones who worked the hardest for me.
 
OK; here is what I am doing in the a.m.

I add Bee Pollen Granules to my plain yogurt, with blueberries, a strawberry and flax.

Before I go to workout at noon - I take two teaspoons of raw honey - followed by my shake which includes 2 scoops of protein, 5 grams of glutamine and "fast twitch - basically a creating, nitro blend"

I swear I am getting incredibly vascular with this combination - I am 100% natty and have gotten both size and vascularity.

My husband had taken a tbls. spoon of honey per day to keep his allergies at bay. You have to use local bee's for this treatment though.:)

what's the point in having a 'tein shake before the gym? why not just eat a meal and wait an hour?

Hey Bro, hope life's good!

Well, I don't go for raw honey, but I know what you mean about needing a sugar drive before training. I like to have some chopped bananas and yougart.

The only time I don't do this is before a boxing lesson once a week where my trainer makes me want to throw my guts up by the time he has pushed my aching creaking body to its extreme limit!
