Or for any reason actually? If so:

1) How the hell did you cope mentally with the clothes just falling off you as opposed to feeling tight?

2) How long did you take to get it all back?

my buddy got menigitis at college and lost around 25 pounds, some of it was muscle, most of it was fat, he looked pretty good when it was over with

I had a bad car wreck. Had a lacerated liver and pancreas, left sided hemo/pneumothorax, and ruptured spleen. I lost 40 pounds. I couldn't even really work out for 4 months.

i was 282 when i got shot. after 13 days in the hospital, i weighed just over 230. i would sweat thru clothes in a matter of an hour or so. my body was devouring itself.

How long did it take you to get all the muscle you lost back?

I lost 30 lbs in about 15 days or so. I was travelling and I contracted a rare starin of salmonella posoining that is usally fatal. i was in the hospital for 10 days and on bed rest for about 6 months after. It fucked me up mentally and physically really bad. It took like 2 years for me to get my shit back to where it was. Worst days of my life!!!

I lost a good 20 lbs when I had mono in college, but once I got better and was able to eat again it didn't take but a few weeks to put that weight back on.

I just dropped about 30lbs due to back surgery. Pain med such as percs and oxy strip the weight off of you. Not to mention the lack of cals i was getting in the hospital. I am on the road to recovery now. I currently weigh about 230.
Its tough mentally no doubt but you would be how much your body reacts to your mental thoughts. You have to keep a positive mind set. If you know your body then you should be able to make changes to get your self in the right direction again. Thats what Im doing. I use to compete and ill do it again. I know that. So im training again back on the gear for the first time in a while. And all will be good in no time.

The question is what happened to you, how long have you been out for? You never want to rush back in because you can hurt your self more causing more time off. The longer you are out the longer it will take to recover.

I lost 15 pounds after getting my wisdom teeth out. Couldn't eat.

Losing as much weight as some of you guys lost would honestly make me suicidal. I'm scared that something like that could happen to me because I don't know how I could handle it.

more than the weight, what really affects me is when I go back the first day to the gym and I can't even lift half of what I used to. That shit kills me, watching kids lifting heavier weights than me. lol and of course looking like shit.

Oh god, i forgot about that! I put my warm up weight on the bench bar after that and the shit dropped on my chest and some 60 year old dude had to get it off me! True story! i left and did not come back for 3 weeks!!!!

As many of the vet's on here know I have been gone better part of the last year due to spinal cord injury which lead to surgery, and I have only been working out again for the past 2 weeks, so no where near even being back in the groove yet. Coping with it was and is VERY tough, all I can say is find something or better yet someone that motivates you to get out of the depression slump. For me, my cousin and I who is in Iraq, started talking and emailing daily. After seeing what those guys are going thru over there, and seeing their progress and taking the time everyday to workout or do cardio while fighting the war in between every workout, I figured if they can do it, I can do it. I'm proud to say that I have been sending cases of Beverly International protein powder and supplements to the war for soldiers to use over that cheap crap they were trying to stomach from local sources and military stock. their progess over the last 9 months has been inspirational, I hope this helps, it's a deep slump and hard to crawl out of.

your a good man

i think the hardest part of a comeback is getting out of the slump and motivating urself to get back into the game.

i had a bad accident a few years ago n couldn't train for about four months. i lost about forty pounds and all of my motivation. AFTER my docs gave me the okay it took a few months for me to get back into it. but once i did, i put the weight back on MUCH faster than it originally took. and as we all know, that in itself will give u motivation. hardest part was that first trip BACK to the gym

i got pretty ill end of my freshman year, ralphed everyday and could eat almost nothing cuz id just throw it up. I ate maybe a bagel and a bowl of ramen noodles everyday. Lost about 20 lbs in 2 weeks, which was rough because im already a hardgainer. Sucked ass, cuz there was nothing i could do about it, and i couldnt lift because id lose even more weight. I started to get pretty pussyish, hell even my girlfriend outweighed me, but then again she gained about 25 lbs from fresh year. Im guessing it was that nasty ass dorm food or somthing with preservatives, no doctors could figure it out. Anyway, took me the summer to get it back, and then some.

but yea, it definantly sucks getting small, but its unbelievably frusterating when you finally try and lift again and realize that you can do shit, and just lost weeks, months, or even years worth of progress.

"You must spread some Karma around before giving it to indy69camaro again"

What is the website or who do you contact to send supps to our boys??

I'm not a millionaire or something, in fact, I'd like to have some extra bucks to buy some supps for me, but man, there are no words or money in this world to thank these guys for what they're doin'. And just a single scoop of protein a day can give a nice smile to cover those tears in those young brothers fighting a "weird" war.

I had cancer. It eat up my muscles and left my fat, some cancers do that. My cloths fall off me but it isn't a problem for me because I am still alive. Lots of doctors thought I was going to die. I refused and fought tooth and nail to live. SO losing muscle compared to losing life isn't such a big thing.

i lost alot of weight due to a stomach virus / cold that lasted a month! i think it was about 10-15 lbs but most of it was water and fat, every one kept asking me of i was cutting and i was happy but pissed at the same time.
