Anybody else's job not consider Easter a holiday?

We're not religious plus our daughter is only 1 so it wasn't that big of a deal this year but in the years to come, hunting for easter eggs and all the usual Easter stuff will be something that I will want to see.

It's not a big deal to just get the day off but my work doesn't consider it a holiday so we don't get holiday pay differential plus it isn't one of the holidays that people pick to work at the beginning of the year.

I never really got a straight answer from anyone that worked yesterday but I'm curious to see as to how they do not consider Easter a holiday. Some said because it was a religious holiday but then Christmas shouldn't be one either.

So, does anyone else that works weekends get shafted for Easter?

but if I had to work a holiday, Easter would be my holiday of choice.

easter sucks. No gifts , but family is all going to church, so you go too, a family gathering with no purpose other than food if there are no small children in the fam.

I think most holiday are ridiculous (do peole even kow why the day became a "holiday" in the first place) and most holidays are christian holidays so if you don't have off do what jewish people do - take a personal day.

Papa i'm a christain but lol @ Christmas and Easter having anything to do with JEsus. They are pagan holidays that we've turned Christian/turned secular.

I don't know if you're being serious or not but we aren't religious so Easter and Christmas are about Santa, the Easter Bunny, and gifts to us. I really couldn't care less if you disagree with that or not so go spread your religious filth somewhere else

Ya know I'm actually not sure. I've never had to work any of the major holidays with the exception of labor day but I think we get holiday differential

Working in a hospital is going to be different regardless of which hospital. The entire place is setup to run 24/7 so management will decide the holidays based on this.

They probably figure if the holiday is that important to you and your family, you will use a personal day. I think you said you worked part time? I assume that means you don't get any benefits such as paid time off. That's unfortunate, but it means that you get screwed.

i made them let me go. my captain was a compulsive lier. he lied about his life, work and just about anything you could think of. he was one of those guys that no matter what you talk about hes done it seen it or been there. when he tried to make me lie for him and also throwing me under the bus a few times i had it so i made his life a living hell for 3 months. bitched him out in front of everyone else. called him on his stories. tried to make him explain himself on certain aspects of his life but he chickens out because we all know he lies. im the 9th sergeant to be let go by him in 5 years. is it us or him? one day the school will see him for who he is.
