wait, what were we talking about?>.........oh yeah, curry.

I fucking love curry salad fork...........but yeah, you've got to have good ventilation.

I work with a ton of peeps from India, our little break room at lunch smells worst than the mens bathroom. The taste is ok, but I can not deal with stinky foods.

Indian food is good. But if I'm not eating it - I don't want that smell!

Same goes for popcorn in offices btw.

You want the complicated one or the easy one.

Easy One:

3 T of curry powder
1 spanish onion
1 T cumin seeds
2 garlic cloves
6 chicken thighs.
1 can of lentils
Enough cooked rice to serve curry on top.

rough chop and saute the onion until tender

coat the thighs in olive oil and sprinkle with curry powder, cook them over high heat with a heavy iron skillet laid on top of them and heavy cans on top of that (it makes the skin crispy)

add the remaining curry, cumin seeds, garlic and cooked lentils to the chicken and onions and simmer until the chicken is tender enough to fall off the bones. Remove the bones, shred the chicken a little with 2 forks and serve the chicken and lentils over rice.

YUMMMMMY

hit me with the complicated one.

He he, I really have had good curry, just not my cup of tea. I look at it this way... Think of a nice curry dish then think of a nice vajayjay. It might look really really nice, but OMG that shit stinks.

I will stick to my dry chicken, raw green beans and brown rice diet.

someone say curry????

Yeah, honestly, it has a zillion ingredients. I don't know it by heart, but I could pm it to you later. It is TIME CONSUMING though and the one I posted is pretty freaking yummy, actually. The key is getting really good quality curry powder. Splurge for the best you can find. =-)

I've never had sex with an indian woman........but I heard they smell like curry "down there"..........true or not?

I'm not sure? I think if you eat enough of anything you start to smell like it. I know Asian people who eat lots of fish and white rice have a diffrent smell (No racist). I'm sure we also stink to them.

Chicken Jalfrezi

1 5-600g chicken breast
1 green bell pepper
1 medium onion
1 medium tomato
1 1/2 teaspoons tomato paste
3 cloves garlic
2 teaspoons minced ginger or 1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 1/2 teaspoons red chili peppers
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala
salt
chopped cilantro
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

8 x finger fresh chillies(V HOT) (5=Hot) (3=medium)

Cut chicken into bite sized pieces and toss with salt, turmeric, chili powder and let stand for 20 minutes.

In a large skillet over high heat add the oil, onion, garlic and ginger and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add Chicken, reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.

Cut each finger chillie down the centre so you have 2 symetrical pieces, add chillies. if you have less chillies cut into more peices

Add the coriander, cumin, tomatoes, green peppers and mix well.
Cover and cook another 15 minutes.

Add a bit of water if too thick.

Add the tomato paste and Garam Masala, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

(at this point start removing any fat as it floats to the top) Remove from heat, taste and adjust seasonings, top with chopped cilantro and serve with rice

Bhindi Subji Okra and Tomatoes
From: Moneerah

3 chopped onions
1 minced tsp fresh garlic
1 tbs minced ginger (fresh)
5 cloves
cumin
cardomon powder
tumeric
curry powder
black pepper
red pepper powder
okra (whole)
tomatoes (diced)
water
oil

Saute first 3 ingredients in oil until golden brown.
Next, add tomatoes (as many as you like to eat) and simmer until sauce is formed.
Add spices proportionately (That means add as much as you like of each spice, but not too much tumeric.
Put enough so that you don't feel like you are making a chunky tomato sauce because you have to add okra and water) and cook for a few minutes.
Add okra, as much as you want, probably 10 okra for every person. Mix together and cook until okra is cooked-not gumbo consistancy.

Add salt to taste. Add a couple cups of water, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with rice.
