oh please. america and britain have meddled in the middle east for decades. go read up on how kurdistan was dissolved and integrated into iraq, and turkey, and how kuwait was created. there is long standing legitimate resentment against the US and britain throughout the middle east. now all of that is old history, except when america unceasingly interferes with the political process in the region for its own self interest (read: oil), making (or saving) billions of dollars through shady backdoor deals with one ruler or the other, in the context of most of the population living in abject poverty, and you start to see that the policies implemented by america and britain are the main cause of terrorism.

before gulf war 1, iraq was a prosperous nation. then the squeeze of sanctions (by the usa, of course) led to the deaths of hudreds of thousands through preventable disease, a brain drain whereby educated iraqis flooded out of the nation, the economy was turned on its head, and the ability to lead a fulfilling life in the country was completely smothered...all in the name of oil, money, and power. fuck, if i was an iraqi, id be pretty pissed as well. then you have unreported bombings by the americans and brits throughout iraq, with people dying all the time (not shown on US news of course, oh no) adding insult to injury in an otherwise proud people, and you have all the makings of terrorism. THESE PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE. and a lot of that is americas, and britains fault.

Could it be that their leaders spend a vast amount of their illicit profit to build and support literally thousands of mosques and schools that have been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to place the blame on the poverty squarely on the west. The victory of Badr confirmed it. This is what it had grown to, a menace to whatever came in its way.
