I agree Dlyan.
I was an NCO before I could buy beer. My SAW gunner have to buy the stuff for me.
If your looking to be an Airborne Ranger PM me.

hmmm

whats long and black and full of seamen a submarine , navy submariners make rank fast and you get extra pay seapay and sub pay etc.

Enlist bro. There will be tough times, but also the best times of your life. I got kicked out after crushing some discs in my back, but if I could, I'd be back in right now rolling in sand next to my bros in Afg. Every day that goes by I hate being a fucking civilian.
Not to mention, if you go special ops and you make it, once you get those Ranger tabs, SEAL budweiser, or whatever you'll be proud of yourself. Pride is an outstanding thing and will change you forever. Good luck in whatever your decision is bro. :)

Hat's off to you, ZEUS. Stepping back from the bravado, it's true that the Air Force does take the best care of it's folks, and they sleep in apartments instead of quonset huts or holes. We used to make lots of fun at the squids for their pansy-assed PT, but when you think about it, they generally don't need a high level of fitness to do what they do, as opposed to having to hump a ruck for many miles and still be ready to fight. As far as ease of service goes, I hear the USAF is it, with job skills like you said. So yeah, Zeus, you get an Amen.

Dylan - I don't believe any Force Recon Marines ever moved over to another service, but I do know some Marines who went 18B when they couldn't get into Force Recon. I'm not saying FR is better than 18B (I actually think all the elites are pretty on par), it's just that Force Recon is such a small group, folks have better luck trying 18B where there are more slots. No offense intended earlier. Hell, considering today's Pepsi Generation, anyone in the service is a patriot in my book.

You said that you're going to school. Have you thought of being an officer? I've been in the army reserves for almost three years, and graduated in June. My school didn't have ROTC, so I investigated the direct commission process. It takes a few interview boards and a security clearance background check. If you're lookin' career, I highly recommend officer status, but enlist first.

There is nothing worse than an officer that does'nt know what the grunts in the mud are going through. I'm sure that any enlisted member has had an experience with a fresh LT without experience, and didn't enjoy the outcome.

As far as I'm concerned, don't go in to the military if you don't go in to a combat field. Yeah it's tougher than some things, but why go in to the military if you don't want to fight? You can be a cook, deisel mechanic, or desk jockey on the civilian side. The difference is that you get babysitted to do that shit in the military.

Stick with the school, it's a few more months of possible torture, but it will be with you for the rest of your life, just like being a soldier. Don't be short-sighted, you'll go far.

What's up bro? I am in the Navy. Those of you saying join the marines must not be too informed. We the baddest mofo's on the planet. I will beat a jarhead down. I ain't got nothin against them, but they have big mouths and can rarely back themselves up. With the Navy you get the best bonuses and education. pm or email me I will let you in on some other shit that the recruiter don't tell you:fro:

If my training partner was this intelligent, I would be 350 by now!
