I currently work for the state, and about 2 yrs ago I wrote an incident report on something that happened at work, that I was there and witnessed. A guy got hit by a car. I was in the vehicle as a passenger, I didnt see him hit him jsut heard the thud and got out and seen he had hit someone. I recently mentioned that incident on a facebook group saying "I was there and seen it with my own eyes" and now they are trying to get me for falsifying a govt document? They are trying to turn it around saying I said I saw the actual hit, while in my report I didnt see him hit the guy (which I didnt). So what can I do? whats going to happen?

you work for the state. that was your first mistake. they are the government and can fuck you over. Get a lawyer if they are playing hardball

They're trying to scare you first to see if you will break. 90% of the time it never goes to the criminal stage. I wouldn't sweat it. Though I would worry aobut retaliation at work and stuff, you never know in today's govt layoff phase.
