I'm an avid flyfisher.....and have been for over 30 years. Yeah, I'm an older guy (42). I fish all over the Eastern Sierras in CA, some in Nevada and some in Oregon. Trout are my favorite! Big, small, I catch them all.

I love to fly fish just don't get enough time to do it with work and all. I am headed to Scotland in the near future so I may pack up the gear and try and get some casting in.

Cheers,
Scotsman

yeah, i live in Jersey but do most of my fishing in Pa. I get out to Montana at every other year. I fished the bighorn, Madison, Missouri, Blackfoot, Sun, and some smaller streams out their. My father just moved to the Smokey Mountains in NC, i did some fishing donw their in Oct, it is very nice, good fishing. I have been fly fishing since i was 19, i am 28 now.

I was a professional fishing guide for 8 years in the Rockies in Canada. I love fly fishing.

I actually prefer to fish alone though. There's only two people on the planet I can fish with and enjoy the company. The rest of the world I wind up "guiding" all over again...

Average rainbows where I guided were about 2.5 lbs and up to 10lbs, average brook trout were 1.5 and up to 6 lbs. Did some guiding for Northern Pike on the fly rod too and that was an intense RIOT!

Now I drive a desk and every spring I'm looking out my window to the west with a tear running down my cheek...sniff

Sounds like a blast, i here you about the guiding thing, i was never a professional but people always want to learn how to flyfish, and i don't like taking people who just want to dick around for a day. I don't know much about a Canada, but i here fishing for 10-20 lb pike on a fly is nuts. When you were in Canada did you ever make it to the really big brookies, i beleive in Labrador, i here they get up to six lbs and hit mice patterns, it is a trip i have looked into.

No need, theres places that are just as good as Labrador. There's a fly in place on the border of BC and Alberta that has giant brookies too. Best time to go is late August though cause that's when they start to move into the river which exits the lake. Sinking line with a streamer and you're into some LARGE brookies.

The lake I guided alot on produced the 3rd largest brook trout in the world (yes, the world). It was caught by Dave Robson and weighs over 12 lbs. The same lake also produced the largest rainbow trout in Alberta at over 20 lbs. The company I worked for owns it.

Labrador would be nice though.

Tough not having a "reel" job anymore,..ain't it? hehehe

At least once a year I get asked by clients, "So when are you going to get a real job?"
Answer is always the same, "How the hell do you spell "Reel"? As far as I'm concerned I am the only one in the boat with a "reel" job! Just spell it diferent then you guys!!"
