Jus wanna know what cycles you did if any? And what your stats were and your lifts while in college. Im currently jus going to a JC, playin there next year and planning on going D-2 the year after. My goals are

455 squat
365 bench
495 deadlift
225 OHP
35" vert
4.5 40yd dash

Im 5'10", 200lbs, 10% BF. My 40yd dash is probably 4.6, and my vert is terrible. Probably 28"

I plan on doing 5x5 MWF starting in January with plyos/sprints on T/TH/SA

What did you guys do as far as cycles, training, etc? Thx in advance for sharing guys!

Never did any AAS, didnt need it my natural hormones were sky MF high..I overtrained, underslept, and had some stressful academics and bad injuries, but always healed up and came back to play.....ate like a champ, drank protein shakes like it was going out of style, creatine, lots of Vitamin C, EFAs, multi, anti oxidant formula, and just keep eating around the clock but good clean stuff...try some creatine/beta alanine combo, and pop BCAAs all day like its going out of style, before, during and after your workouts.

If you want to improve your vert and speed, you need to get more powerful and stronger...you have the strength covered with squats and deads, bench press and OHP are great for upper body moves, but you need to do some power cleans, hang cleans, snatches, heavy high pulls, push press, snatches, etc....you need to move weight fast from the ground up and improve your power base. Always start your workout with an olympic lift or variation thereof, then move to a structural lift like the ones you have mentioned above (deads, squats, bench, OHP, RDL), do some one leg work like RDLs or pistol squats, and make sure your doing intervals of not just sprints but also lateral movements and patterns you would do from your position on the field..

Go buy some old time Bill Starr books, that will treat you right. And there is an old Nebraska Football Strength and Conditioning book you can get online at any bookstore that covers your bases "Complete Conditioning for Football"...

Your at a JC you gotta be young, no need to juice bro, your body is primed and ready to grow already, tap into it

Don't juice bud. Eat sleep and stay away from the party scene. I played D3 transfered to JC in Cali smoked and snorted my way to no offers. Learn from my mistakes please...

PS you asked for numbers bro Im so far out from college they wouldnt matter, and I will post some but Im also going to tell you this....numbers dont mean shit on the field....I mean you want to be as strong and fast as you can....but there are stallions in the weightroom and on the track who cant play football for jack shit..so work hard in the gym but dont think that will directly correlate to success on the field....your skills training for you position will, and practicing hard in camp, in season practice, doing well in games at the JC, and spring ball if they have it at JC. You need to get stronger and faster, but also be able to use it athletically on the field...then there are hundreds of other variables, like your mental game and make up, and other athletic traits God gave you or not...

I cleaned in the range of 385, deadlifted and squatted 700 range, 38" standing no step vert, close gripped I think 350 hell I bench more now back then I had shoulder issues and did close grip and didnt crank it too heavy too often I needed my arms for playing not benching, 4.65 40yd dash. I imagine for many of us the numbers climb as the years pass that we played, but those are legit and anytime i see old teammates I am reminded of it because I was known for my lifting, but also known for ripping and tearing muscles all the time with freak soft tissue injuries, and getting tested for juice both in camp and spring even by my own sports med staff they thought I was hitting the sauce because I was an injury prone with major hops and sick power in the weightroom. Lesson learned-overtraining and hitting huge numbers all the time isnt the best thing, I could have hit big numbers, but spent more time working on speed and agility development, conditioning, and game skills....as well spent more time doing active recovery and regeneration work which we know so much more about these days...be foam rolling, massage sticking, stretching, power plate if your school or gym has one, look into all kinds of ways to improve recovery, dont go balls out every single workout, and spend as much time on the track or field practicing game speed running and drills as you do lifting....and trust me, this comes from someone who wants to live and die in a squat rack and olympic platform! Youre better off not juicing, learning more about proper programming lifting sessions, tweaking diet and supplements, and doing lots of recovery work, speed work, and game skills work. Watch tons of game film and study your playbook.

15 years later I cannot sniff those kinds of cleans, deadlifts, squats, vert, or 40! hahah....and my body is a damn mess too. But Ill admit I wouldnt trade those times for anything, only would have trained smarter if I had the knowledge then I do now.

osubeavers im not into theparty scene. That sucks u had to go through that....

power36 thx for your posts, I have a groin injury which is making it impossible to train on the field but I am hitting it hard in the weight room. I actually just called my coach yesterday to ask him to study the playbook and I am going to see him next week. There last game is Saturday and they are 3-6 right now, so I bet hes ready for some new players LOL. Thanks for your detailed post, it was exactly what I was looking for and exactly what I needed to hear.

I am already on cycle but I think ill be natty during the spring and all throughout the season next Fall.

Hang in there brother. Train your good leg as long as it doesnt cause pain on the bad leg. Keep training your upper body too, and if you can afford it get some soft tissue work, light therpy, maybe even accupuncture on that groin...Im all about trying to find ways to improve recovery these days and wish I did more of it back in the day instead of grinding it out through the pain and coming back way before I should have each time...again, I loved football more than life itself...and wouldnt change a thing other than train smarter....

get those books I mentioned, you can go wrong with Bill Starr it is old school but still applicable, as is the Nebraska book. Supplementation can do a lot of neat things for you, the ones I mentioned are not sexy but they will do you some good over the long haul if taken consistent. if you want to get sexy, maybe ask Need2 on here which supplements he has that might help that do not pose any risk to testing positive, I think he has a bunch of suppelements that boost T and anabolic activity that are natural if you want to give it a shot and have the cash. Id keep a foundation though of a multi vitamin, 2-5g vitamin C a day, BCAAs as many as you can afford, EFAs taken multiple times a day, anti oxidant formula, and once your back to weightroom full speed creatine and beta alanine.

Be careful with the sauce....it was many many years ago but I know more then one guy back in the day who thought he was taking EQ or something that would clear his system, and it turned out to have some nandrolone in it and he was popped by NCAA....if your doing UG stuff you never know what might be in it, and you cant risk testing positive a year later from something you didnt realize you took...if your gonna play that game Id only go pharm grade T with PCT, or as much as folks hate orals Id feel more comfortable taking T plus an oral for a stint and getting off long before I knew I could be tested...however I dont know these days if rules changed and they can test you any time they want once you go to an NCAA program, which would make it smart to cut out the AAS for sure....but yea unless you got medical issues you shouldnt need it, do a good PCT and jump on some good supplements, heal up that groin, and tear it up brother...hit the books too, as much as I love football, it always ends for all of us at some point, and a good degree under your belt is a nice thing to have.

You know whats weird is that I train and the groin never hurts but it still stays at 90%...i think it is a REALLY deep tissue tear or something. Its almost 100% though. My dad is a chiropractor and has some recovery methods but I think mine is too deep in the tissue...

Im def takin all those supps you recommended! And I know what test boosters you are talking about. I dont thinkI will get tested unless I went D1, ive never heard of D2 testing before? Maybe im totally wrong tho

Im gonna look up those books! Im always wanting to learn more and become better

I dont know about D2, probably if you make it to playoffs (do they have playoffs?). I didnt think DIII got tested, thats where some of my boys went to get their gear...off the DIII guys who were as wide as they were tall bloated up on drol and dbol hah..

Not worth it at all...scan this stuff...DII does get tested, and some DIIIs...AND they are now doing summer testing, whether you are on campus or not.......enjoy that last cycle while you are in JC and do a good PCT so your body is primed and healthy to do its magic on its own (which should be plenty with the right training and diet).

wow thanks power, i was going to run deca next week but now im not! I need to find something else to run

I am going to run a solid PCT after this cycle. The be hitting the olympic lifts hard, lots of recovery, clean diet, speed/agility work, stretching, etc. cant wait. My coach actually just texted me last night and said that I have the skill set to play at the next level. Im only at a JC but I still felt good about what he said and makes me wanna try even harder

Stay Hungry brother!! yea screw Deca Ive heard anywhere from 12-18 months in your system.....and thats the one guys got popped for all the time since they didnt realize they were taking it and the UG was labled as something else....

Keep up the hard work

Dude I played D1 in the best conference in college football. My last two seasons I risked it all and ran cycles through both seasons. My junior year I ran Test Prop. Week 9 NCAA came to town and sure enough my name was on the list to be tested. Trust me theres no way possible to cheat it. The NCAA guy stood nearly shoulder to shoulder with me at the urinal and watched every bit off piss come out. I dont know what happened after that. I suspect my coaches and trainers knew what I was doing and I honeslty believe they got my test pulled and I never got busted. So then of course going in to my senior year I feel the odds are with me and I hope I wont get tested again. I rolled the dice and was very lucky NCAA didnt come and test me again.

I was tested one time in five years by NCAA. They pick players at random. I know guys that were randomly tested five times in five years. So I was just extremely lucky. Now, your school also does drug test but they are only testing for recreational drugs, unless they feel your juicing.

I ran short ester tests, no way in hell I would run deca. If you do it, just know not every will be as lucky as I was. And if you get popped you will have to sit out an entire year from the time your drug test comes back positive. Then on top of that your probably gonna lose your scholarship ( if your on one) and get kicked off the team.

With all that said if I had to do it all over again, I think I would do it exactly the same. But I would not reccommend it for any other person. Good luck man, holler at me if you have any questions. I know alot about the NCAA, college strength and conditrioning, etc.

When did you play? Depending on when you played, testing is a WHOLE lot different.....they can randomly test anytime they want now.....

I played for a top 20 DIA team and transferred and played at a top 20 DIAA......at the DIA school I swear kickers and recievers got tested when the guys everyone knew juiced never did...I dont know how but I thought it seemed that way...at the IAA school, myself and the other guys who did juice or were suspected of jucing, always seemed to be on the MFing list.....both times a year, during camp and then spring....looking back I dont know if spring ball it was the school testing or the NCAA coming in again....but I always got tested, I had super high numbers in testing, was known for soft tissue injuries, and had "bad attitude" as a nickname even by some of the coaches...I know the coaches didnt want me popped, but sports med staff always questioned me, my friends about me, and even football staff that was close to me about me if I was juicing...and I always got tested...so honestly I dont know how it all goes down.....

I will say this, talk to current guys on teams to see if there are any patterns, or see if on other boards there are guys who discuss this....you dont want to get busted, some schools kick your ass out, no scholarship, no education, no eligibility, and make it surely a pain in ass for another college to recruit you unless you are just the frigging man....

WHy risk it? if You have the ability to play at a certain level, your still at a prime age you dont need the sauce!! Im not against it at all, but think it is a shortcut or mental thing for guys to want to do it in college, because your hormones are primed, if you eat halfway decent, train your balls off, and supplement wisely, you can get kick ass gains without needing to worry about testing, save the money you spend on juice, and not risk anything......

I finished playing a little over a year ago. So its not going to be any different. Im not some old dude talking about back in the day when I played, ha.

Anyways when NCAA comes in to test you should definitely know. Like I mentioned before NCAA stands right beside you and stares at your junk while you try to piss. Its weird! Also after you piss you pour your urine into two seperate little bottles. You seal both of them, sign them and then NCAA scans them like a bar code. You put them into a plastic bag then into a small box and that is sealed as well.

When the school tests you its pretty laid back. Someone might stand behind you but they dont watch every detail like NCAA. Schools always test sporadically throughout the year. Everyone gets tested at the beginning of camp aka 2 a days. But like you said the coaches have a pretty good idea who is and who isnt and they honestly dont care. If it makes you bigger, stronger, and faster then theyre not going to complain to anyone. On the other hand the trainers in the training room like to stick theyre nose where it doesnt belong. But I found as long as your cool with the coaches and you perform well, then the trainers cant touch you. The coaches wont allow it.

I am extremely lucky I didnt get busted. I promise you dude you dont want to lose a year of eligibility.

Hah....Im one of those old dudes talking about back in the day! So most get tested at start of camp, you hear anything about this random summer testing I read about on the NCAA site?

I do remember times I had to pull my shorts to my ankles, pull my shirt up under my armpits, twirl 360 then piss....yea that wasnt easy with someone staring at your junk...some guys couldnt pull the trigger and had to go in the hall and drink a bunch of Gatorade and water until they could make it happen haha....

My stats were 325 bench, 225 clean and jerk, 4.59 40, not sure vertical, but it was the very top flag on the pole. I was 194 lbs and 23 years old. This was in 1988 when I walked on to the Arizona State football team. I left after a semester because I was an engineering major and there was no way I could play and graduate. Bummer, cause I was gonna make the team, from all the reports I got.

Holy smokes Chesty, them is some wheels if you ran a 4.59 haha...23 years old? Did you serve first in the military and then go to AZ State? If so thanks for your service, that is bad ass...and bad ass at 23 you could go pull off stats like that and have a chance to make it as a walk on with a team of that caliber....and also impressive you had the maturity to stick out an engineering degree as a priority.....the statistics of Div I football players who do not graduate is staggering, I mean God awful staggering...disgusting actually....guys get 5 years, most players stay in summers to train so could take a class or two, and these morons can finish a basket weaving sociology or phys ed or some other easy degree in 5 years...thats a joke.....and a waste of an education giving scholarships to some of these dudes...trust me Im a meathead, but also a stickler for education and doing something else for yourself in life for when football ends, as well giving back to society and your community......

Impressed brother with the stats!

Oh guys just had a flashback.....Lattimer on the movie The Program was a cool character (outside of raping girls which is a bad rap juice stereotype thing).....but how he could walk into the stall, pull out piss from someone else and put it in the vial, oh do we all wish it was that easy to cheat! hahah

Thanks! Much appreciated. It is nice to hear how everyone supports the military!

Yes, it was after the Marines. My first enlistment that is. I started at 165 lbs and told everyone at my other college that if I make 195 I'll walk on ASU's team. I made 195 in 4 1/2 months natural, walked on and went from there. I agree with the education aspect. I saw kids that couldn't add 2 + 2 or read from a 1st grade primer and they were the starters! When I was turning in my gear, the chart they keep on all the walk ons in the hall with our rankings showed me having more gold stars than anyone else who walked on and more than a lot of other guys that I didn't know. I was pissed cause it looked like I was going to make the team, but I wanted my engineering degree more as going pro is worse than winning the power ball.

Bro Im glad you had the maturity to recognize your priorities and how you would have to manage your time. As well again, thanks for your service. I get goosebumps even saying that. I worry somedays there are not as many Patriots in this country as there used to be.

If you finished your degree and have a professional career, thats more than many D-I athletes sadly....and I dont watch much sports, but when I do happen to be somewhere Im with people who are watching, I always cheer for the more academic schools....the service academies, Stanford, Northwestern, UVA, and others that you know the guys might have to show up to class every once in a while to stay eligible...

interesting thread with D1 athletes chiming in here. For those of you that played, did you know whether a lot of your teammates were juicing too and what their cycles were?

yes i played college football and never juiced, it wasn't necessary. if you cannot get jacked at 18/19 years old then you don't have the genetics and/or dont work.. I was fast.. clocked in at 4.4.. played RB. very quick. unfortunately got nailed with 2 severe injuries (blew out my right arm tendon and a concussion) and never got to see the field.. it turned out good though cause i focused on my career and am still doing that 12 years later.

I agree to a large extent, I had plenty of natural hormones and worked my butt off and supplemented, ate right ,and had plenty of speed, strength, and power...cant say I wasnt tempted if I couldve found someone I trusted to get stuff I wanted....even back then I read the old MM2K magazines and Anabolic Reference Guide or whatever from Bill Phillips I think, and I wanted some anavar and primo tabs....I wanted to stay at the same bodyweight and just get better recovery or gain a few pounds, but not much....

yes I knew guys who juiced....and shit happened to some...some would take pills they bought from who knows, and one guy had half his face go into paralysis, it went away but was scary...again taking stuff you dont know what it really is....another took what he thought was EQ, a year later tested positive for nandrolone.....others were guys that took anadrol and test, blew up over the summer, came into camp I suspect not doing PCT, and lost a ton of it, then felt depressed and didnt feel motivated to train hard until season was over and they did a next cycle....to me it was scary because guys were getting stuff from the same person on campus selling weed and coke....mmm and back then computers were not as fancy or capable, but guys would buy stuff that Id look up in the book I had, and Id be like Johnson and Johnson doesnt make that in 20cc bro, whatever it is it might not be what it says it is....

so anyways I know guys juiced, but to my knowledge i never heard of anyone doing PCT...they just werent that informed and there wasnt internet sites yet like this....you just did what the doper sellign it told you to do, or what you heard from a bodybuilder back in your hometown....guys blew up then lost alot of it...some were smart kept their mouths shut but seemed to keep gains, but it was obvious at times because the changes were so fast and dramatic, no idea what they were doing....the NYC and NJ boys seemed to have a good hook back home haha...otehrs went on spring break to Mexico and brought back what they could .....but times have changed so much since 9/11 that I dont know if that would be smart these days, nor heading into Mexico for that matter!

I didn't even know what a steroid was back then. I just busted my ass and never gave up. A lot of the guys I ran into, couldn't read or add 2 numbers together to save their life. Back then though, football players got automatic passing grades to keep them eligible so when they graduated they were even dumber than when they started and had no clue what their degree involved.

Thanks again for the military props. I look around today and realize that all of the young kids that fought, have fought, are fighting and will fight in Iraq and Afghanistan are the ones who will save this country and I feel a lot of the time that I am not worthy to be in their presence. I may have served, but I did not have to put my ass on the line as they have done are doing every single day. These are the kids that will rebuild this country!

God Bless our troops for sure...and as much as I love sports, screw the kids who are here playing college sports and not taking advantage of the education, when there are guys/gals over in some sh$thole away from family and friends sucking it up for us, wishing they could come back and get a free education at a big time university....

I agree. I remember when Pat Tillman left a multi-million dollar contract with the Cardinals to join the Army and serve our country. Only to be killed in combat. No one understood, least of all the sports casters and such. What really pissed me off the most was when they built the Cardinal stadium and were looking for a name, it should have been a no brainer to call it the Pat Tillman Stadium. Instead, they call it the University of Phoenix stadium. What bullshit that was! I'm from AZ so that plus being a Marine really just fucking pissed me off to no end!

damn guys makes me wanna jooin the military again! I was in MCRD for bootcamp for Marines, and i got kicked out because a warrant for my arrest came up from where I was from. I ended up getting a felony but I remember being a squad leader and I was one of the biggest there. I loved it though, Idk what im gonna do, might go back if i dont make D2 football

thanks for all the responses guys. Its nice now a days theres so much more info, i am def comin off this cycle and stayin natty but im finishing it first, might as well since im already 6 weeks into it.

did the felony have something to do with steroids? just wonderin, i hear stories and it scares the crap out of me how guys get busted. one dude at my gym got 15 years for selling. he's got 3 young kids sad

No, it had to do with cc fraud and identity theft so watch out :) lol jk but it really was about using someone elses cc at a 7-11 for some food and cigarettes...

i actually even got pulled over, they found steroids in my car, just took them and other electronics i had stolen and didnt say anything about them. But that was in my hometown not in Marine bootcamp

I can see that.....but there would be no money in naming it after him...Im sure Univ of Phoenix dumped a ton of cash to have it named that......all about "show me the money".....isnt that one of those retard online degree bullshits?

God Bless a guy like Tillman.....in the glory days of this country folks left Ivy League schools and pro sports, to sign up and serve in WWI, WWII, Korea.....it meant something to serve.....there was an obligation to give back to this great nation.....these days too many folks are "whats in it for me" entitlement bullshit...

You can make D2 football it sounds like, so keep a positive mindframe.....get your ass into a D2 school, tear it up playing ball, enjoy it, love it, get that education....look into OCS summer programs, you can go to military training a few weeks each summer, then graduate and be an officer.....or check into enlistments, there are huge bonuses now.....but if you have the ability, bust your ass and play college ball, wont be something you get another chance at.....and then when you are at your D2 school, talk to some military recruiters......Army National Guard has some cool deals, you can go Special Forces from a NG unit....

I seem to remember you starting a post last year about playing D-1 football. You were trying to increase your speed from like 4.7 to 4.5 but you listed your height around 5'7" or 5'8".

Congratulation on increasing the height. What is your secret?

I really gotta know if most d line and lbs take any form of steroid because I play d3 and just wondering if it can take your game to the next level.

I didnt think D3 got tested?

You know roids wont make you hit more homeruns, or run faster, or become a better football player...they will help you recover, hence able to lift, run, practice skills more...in that way they might help...but if you are at DIII juicing isnt going to somehow improve your football skills or talent....be a student of the game, watch film tons, study playbook, and train your nuts off.

Most DIII folks I knew juiced because they didnt get tested but that was a long time ago. Might make you bigger and recover faster and in a sense improve your football, but its not going to be a life changer. Juice doesnt improve talent and athletic abilility.

be smart and use college scholarship to get your degree, don't be stupid and think you will make it to the nfl one day and even if you do make it to a teams training camp not only do you have to make the roster, but you also have to hope you don't get cut at some point in the season. and then on top of that even if you make the roster and play they are gonna draft someone next year to try to beat you out.. and lets say you make a career out of a pro sport and that is a helluva accomplishment the average career is 3 years. then you gotta find a new career. very few guys actually make enough to retire afterwards. and plenty make enough and squander it away on stupid shit and failed businesses. don't be some Rudy type and bitch that you aren't getting in the game, just shut up and get your degree and free education and be thankful. that degree will take you further than anything aside from being born into wealth ..

and of course pertaining to this thread don't be stupid and lose your scholarship cause you wanted to juice up.. i know plenty of people who cheated in college (not just talking about steroid use but also cheated on exams, interships etc) and they were kicked out of school and now they are bagging groceries.

good feedback Steve.

50-75% of pro athletes are bankrupt, divorced, mentally depressed, and smoking within 5 years of career ending...

1-12 Test E 500 mgs per week
1-5 Dbol 50 mgs per day
8-12 Anavar or Winstrol 50 mgs per day
1-12 Armidex .5 mg EoD

very simple
will add a lot of strength and size at the beginning of cycle, while still remaining somewhat lean and athletic. Then at the end will start to lean out and cut water to prepare for season while still piling on strength.

one thing you don't want to do though is have your PCT land somewhere during the season. Either run a cycle up until the season starts allowing time for proper recovery before the start or run it all the way through and start PCT when the season is over

LOL at telling Glad to not do juice yet. Hes already taken enough gear for an IFBB pro

this thread is old but i hope my post a few posts back can be read by some young dudes who will avoid stupid mistakes and think long term about their futures. a degree is so important in todays economy.. the unemployment rate among college grads is 4.2%.. which is low as fuck. also if you have a special skill on top of that you pretty much are guaranteed a job with the govt/military making very good money and benefits for life.. so you don't even have to work in the private sector and deal with an idiot boss in a suit. uncle sam will hook you up and take care of you when you get older.. know lots of people who served and are now retired and still getting checks in the mail.. they spend their days fishing, boating, having fun, getting tons of under 30 age pussy and they are in their 40's.

so use your football scholarship to secure your education and don't be so hardheaded and obsessed with being the next Rudy and chasing women all day in your early 20's.. you have a better chance of being bitten by a snake then you do of making it in the pro's... young guys are too worried about status and showing off themselves.. look at this hot blonde i am dating, or look at this car i drive.. yeah i work at taco bell for 7 an hour but look at these cool rims i blew my weekly paycheck on. yeah I'm gonna start on saturday against Notre Dame so all my boys back home better watch me on tv.. fuck that.. live in a dorm for 4 years and study your ass off and finish your damn degree. worry about status later on in life. you can laugh at all your friends when you are 45 fishing all day with 5 women on your boat and getting 2K a month check from the govt and you've got 250K saved up in the bank

First time fail jus a warning do a program and will be tested for future. D 3 is ncaa so ya u get tested. Naia and njcaas are only ones that don't test.
