Any college football/ex-football players here?

Dude I played D1 in the best conference in college football. My last two seasons I risked it all and ran cycles through both seasons. My junior year I ran Test Prop. Week 9 NCAA came to town and sure enough my name was on the list to be tested. Trust me theres no way possible to cheat it. The NCAA guy stood nearly shoulder to shoulder with me at the urinal and watched every bit off piss come out. I dont know what happened after that. I suspect my coaches and trainers knew what I was doing and I honeslty believe they got my test pulled and I never got busted. So then of course going in to my senior year I feel the odds are with me and I hope I wont get tested again. I rolled the dice and was very lucky NCAA didnt come and test me again.

I was tested one time in five years by NCAA. They pick players at random. I know guys that were randomly tested five times in five years. So I was just extremely lucky. Now, your school also does drug test but they are only testing for recreational drugs, unless they feel your juicing.

I ran short ester tests, no way in hell I would run deca. If you do it, just know not every will be as lucky as I was. And if you get popped you will have to sit out an entire year from the time your drug test comes back positive. Then on top of that your probably gonna lose your scholarship ( if your on one) and get kicked off the team.

With all that said if I had to do it all over again, I think I would do it exactly the same. But I would not reccommend it for any other person. Good luck man, holler at me if you have any questions. I know alot about the NCAA, college strength and conditrioning, etc.

When did you play? Depending on when you played, testing is a WHOLE lot different.....they can randomly test anytime they want now.....

I played for a top 20 DIA team and transferred and played at a top 20 DIAA......at the DIA school I swear kickers and recievers got tested when the guys everyone knew juiced never did...I dont know how but I thought it seemed that way...at the IAA school, myself and the other guys who did juice or were suspected of jucing, always seemed to be on the MFing list.....both times a year, during camp and then spring....looking back I dont know if spring ball it was the school testing or the NCAA coming in again....but I always got tested, I had super high numbers in testing, was known for soft tissue injuries, and had "bad attitude" as a nickname even by some of the coaches...I know the coaches didnt want me popped, but sports med staff always questioned me, my friends about me, and even football staff that was close to me about me if I was juicing...and I always got tested...so honestly I dont know how it all goes down.....

I will say this, talk to current guys on teams to see if there are any patterns, or see if on other boards there are guys who discuss this....you dont want to get busted, some schools kick your ass out, no scholarship, no education, no eligibility, and make it surely a pain in ass for another college to recruit you unless you are just the frigging man....

WHy risk it? if You have the ability to play at a certain level, your still at a prime age you dont need the sauce!! Im not against it at all, but think it is a shortcut or mental thing for guys to want to do it in college, because your hormones are primed, if you eat halfway decent, train your balls off, and supplement wisely, you can get kick ass gains without needing to worry about testing, save the money you spend on juice, and not risk anything......

I finished playing a little over a year ago. So its not going to be any different. Im not some old dude talking about back in the day when I played, ha.

Anyways when NCAA comes in to test you should definitely know. Like I mentioned before NCAA stands right beside you and stares at your junk while you try to piss. Its weird! Also after you piss you pour your urine into two seperate little bottles. You seal both of them, sign them and then NCAA scans them like a bar code. You put them into a plastic bag then into a small box and that is sealed as well.

When the school tests you its pretty laid back. Someone might stand behind you but they dont watch every detail like NCAA. Schools always test sporadically throughout the year. Everyone gets tested at the beginning of camp aka 2 a days. But like you said the coaches have a pretty good idea who is and who isnt and they honestly dont care. If it makes you bigger, stronger, and faster then theyre not going to complain to anyone. On the other hand the trainers in the training room like to stick theyre nose where it doesnt belong. But I found as long as your cool with the coaches and you perform well, then the trainers cant touch you. The coaches wont allow it.

I am extremely lucky I didnt get busted. I promise you dude you dont want to lose a year of eligibility.

Hah....Im one of those old dudes talking about back in the day! So most get tested at start of camp, you hear anything about this random summer testing I read about on the NCAA site?

I do remember times I had to pull my shorts to my ankles, pull my shirt up under my armpits, twirl 360 then piss....yea that wasnt easy with someone staring at your junk...some guys couldnt pull the trigger and had to go in the hall and drink a bunch of Gatorade and water until they could make it happen haha....

My stats were 325 bench, 225 clean and jerk, 4.59 40, not sure vertical, but it was the very top flag on the pole. I was 194 lbs and 23 years old. This was in 1988 when I walked on to the Arizona State football team. I left after a semester because I was an engineering major and there was no way I could play and graduate. Bummer, cause I was gonna make the team, from all the reports I got.

Holy smokes Chesty, them is some wheels if you ran a 4.59 haha...23 years old? Did you serve first in the military and then go to AZ State? If so thanks for your service, that is bad ass...and bad ass at 23 you could go pull off stats like that and have a chance to make it as a walk on with a team of that caliber....and also impressive you had the maturity to stick out an engineering degree as a priority.....the statistics of Div I football players who do not graduate is staggering, I mean God awful staggering...disgusting actually....guys get 5 years, most players stay in summers to train so could take a class or two, and these morons can finish a basket weaving sociology or phys ed or some other easy degree in 5 years...thats a joke.....and a waste of an education giving scholarships to some of these dudes...trust me Im a meathead, but also a stickler for education and doing something else for yourself in life for when football ends, as well giving back to society and your community......

Impressed brother with the stats!

Oh guys just had a flashback.....Lattimer on the movie The Program was a cool character (outside of raping girls which is a bad rap juice stereotype thing).....but how he could walk into the stall, pull out piss from someone else and put it in the vial, oh do we all wish it was that easy to cheat! hahah

Thanks! Much appreciated. It is nice to hear how everyone supports the military!

Yes, it was after the Marines. My first enlistment that is. I started at 165 lbs and told everyone at my other college that if I make 195 I'll walk on ASU's team. I made 195 in 4 1/2 months natural, walked on and went from there. I agree with the education aspect. I saw kids that couldn't add 2 + 2 or read from a 1st grade primer and they were the starters! When I was turning in my gear, the chart they keep on all the walk ons in the hall with our rankings showed me having more gold stars than anyone else who walked on and more than a lot of other guys that I didn't know. I was pissed cause it looked like I was going to make the team, but I wanted my engineering degree more as going pro is worse than winning the power ball.

Bro Im glad you had the maturity to recognize your priorities and how you would have to manage your time. As well again, thanks for your service. I get goosebumps even saying that. I worry somedays there are not as many Patriots in this country as there used to be.

If you finished your degree and have a professional career, thats more than many D-I athletes sadly....and I dont watch much sports, but when I do happen to be somewhere Im with people who are watching, I always cheer for the more academic schools....the service academies, Stanford, Northwestern, UVA, and others that you know the guys might have to show up to class every once in a while to stay eligible...

interesting thread with D1 athletes chiming in here. For those of you that played, did you know whether a lot of your teammates were juicing too and what their cycles were?

yes i played college football and never juiced, it wasn't necessary. if you cannot get jacked at 18/19 years old then you don't have the genetics and/or dont work.. I was fast.. clocked in at 4.4.. played RB. very quick. unfortunately got nailed with 2 severe injuries (blew out my right arm tendon and a concussion) and never got to see the field.. it turned out good though cause i focused on my career and am still doing that 12 years later.
