The wide stanced GM was VERY hard. It was a shorter range of motion but nearly all hams...and my legs would not bend to help. They were 'interesting'. Cheese couldn't get a good pic of me all the way down...but this was me 'on my way down'.

Cheese set a PR today by doing the 345 stone...shocked the world (my stones are HARD). He was talking a bit of 'smack' about him being an amateur and me being a Pro...and sorta hinted about how he was 'catching up with me' a bit...maybe. I did the 345 stone and went up high with it...came back down...stuck my tongue out at him...then went back and loaded it :)

All in all...not a bad workout. Still playing with a few idea on how to prepare for any contest in the future...finding my weak points and getting stronger at them. Everyone seems to be progressing for sure:)

Enjoy...

The stones will be anywhere between 265-420 in a pro contest. The 420 is usually the EXTRA stone (6th) though. A 365-385 is usually the 5th stone at most Pro contests...

Mostly...lower back, hips, and hams. I've never felt them in the upper erectors...not sure why you would.

where do you get these stones from B Fold?? also, do they come available in any weight?

They were my Christmas Presents this year from my family. I drove 5 hours each way to a man's house in Illinois who made them for me. You can make your own...

I wish I could do that stuff, that would be fun, how long did it take you B-Fold to collect all that stuff you use ?

I have been getting strongman equipment for the past year and a half. They are my Birthday and Christmas presents...every year. I have friends who have trained here to donate things to the 'group'...

Don't forget about the Kentucky Training day on April 12th.

My event volume was fairly low for pre-contest training. I haven't touched a yoke in well over a month...maybe 6 weeks. I usually do a few warm up sets on it that I don't write down here on Elite. I plan to do 710+ this next week. I need to be able to use 800+ fairly easily (ughhhh).

I am working on my plan week by week...I'll try to post it sometime this week though.

Cheese reads Elite...we plan to get him set up with an account here in the next week or so. He is afraid that he will 'ruin the myth of Cheese' if he starts posting though...lol.

Thanks for Your answer man.

One more though, what does that EXTRA mean? Special points?

Appreciate it.

cheers

Well...it is usually just 5 stones in a contest. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get 5 stones...but 5 complete stones beats a lightning fast 4 stones. Same goes for 6 stones...

They are adding the 6th stone in a lot of US contests...
