...since winter is almost here, I let his wings grow out so he can fly around inside. He flew a cross the room and is chilling on top of monitor while I'mreading and posting EF.

He is checking out my web cam....

He doesn't spend much time in the cage. Only when he misbehaves or no one is home, etc.

He is free to fly around the place, getting into stuff. He has a lot of toys in his cage, gets a very healthy balanced diet (I've talked to avian specalists about what he gets), and I take efforts to keep his favorite foods handy as treats. He has a good life.
 
I had a Macaw growing up.... gosh I miss Charlie :(

I'll assume something either happened to him or he was a pet of your grandfather or grandmother who got passed onto you when they died.

A healthy macaw should live to be 80-90 years old. What happened???

He grew sick... very sick... :( I was pretty young, never questioned what it was, just remember a bunch of visits to the Vet. Came home one day from school and Charlie was dead. :bawling:
