As DIV said, the bird as the be in his cage... or yeah there might be a problem. He can hear us though, and squawks a lot when Annabelletx gets loud.

He can chirp along with Toxic by Britney Spears... we are working on Jay's Rap from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. So far all he can say is "pretty bird". He is only 9 months old, but I work with him continually, and leave the tv on or mp3's on the computer when I'm gone. He chatters a LOT.

We determined sex by talking to a bird expert about "his" extremely territorial behavior. No one can touch his cage but me without being attacked, and he is very jelous of me. The bird is affectionate with me, but flips out if someone touches me in front of the bird. It attacked Anna when we first started dating several times, when she3 hugged or kissed me with the bird out of the cage, and is still somewhat aggressive with her. An avian expert told me that is characteristic of a female green cheek.

thats pretty good for a bird thats nine months old, it usually takes them a few years. shit i dont even think her full color is in yet.birds are sweet, i want one

Her colors are in. Her chest and stomach are bright orange. Her tail is bright red, and her flight feathers are blue.

Yes, Legolas is a Green Cheeked Conure. He is 9 months old, but I just found out "he" is in fact a "she", but we are keeping the male name... he is used to it now.

:FRlol: Well we found out that Buddy turned out to be a female to.

She / he started making a nest at the bottom of the cage and laying eggs.
Buddy is 17 yrs. old. They live a very long time if you keep the cage very clean and feed them very good.

Is Legolas a hand fed baby? :licker:

good question on the handfeeding, that may be why shes not so nice. i know hand feds are much nicer.shit if you had annabelletx hand feed her, she wouldnt like bbf.thats good that her colors are in already, it means your doing something right!

Buddy is a handfed baby, I got him few weeks old at a bird show in CA.
I can lay her on her back and rub inside her wings.

The only way I knew he turned out to be a female, she started making nest at the bottom of the cage and laying eggs.

BBF the more you feed Legolas out of your hand the more tammed she will become. They love nuts and plain pop corn.

Legolas is handfed. I wanted a pet not a breeder. We've tried having Anna give Legolas treats by hand (such as peppers and such) but he takes them from her and throws them about a foot and squawks at her.

She has no aggressive behavior towards me, and is generally social with people... as long as they are not touching me or the cage. The avian expert told me its because she is jelous/protective of Anna touching me in front of the bird.

We had an African Grey for 15 yrs. (Sammie, Female) that didn't like me.
But she was a wild caught bird.

She was jealous of me too. One day I was in the shower and had her in there
and she was enjoying the water. And I thought this is cool, she's starting to like me.
She reached up with her beak and grab my cheek.
That was the end of the shower taking with her.
But she was a talker.

birds are so tempermental, moody, and possesive. its great when they like you, and terrible if they dont. such pretty animals.

bbf are you the one that usually takes care of legolas? i know when some birds arent nice you usually want to make them dependent on someone else so they can learn that not only one person is nice to them, all of our birds at the store i worked at were nice to anyone bc everyone took care of them. get annabelle to feed her and take care of her more, as in the food in her dish, not necessarily her handfeeding. also try shelled peanuts birds love them, stay aaway fgrom too much millet as they become dependent on it, also dont give her bread ever. the vet i volunteered at saw great amounts of yeast in birds blood every other bird bc ppl would give them so much food.
