Americans...seriously...why do you hate the metric system?

because, looking back on the days of my youth, my father laying on the creeper under the car and me sitting on the stool beside the tool box. . .and my realization that: "i said 18 millimeter not 13 millimeter you idiot!". . .doesn't have the same ring to it as "i said 9 16's not half-inch you idiot!"

yeah. . .that pretty much sums it up for me. . .

:lmao:

Metric just makes sense, the imperial system is crazy like one mile = 5280 feet and shit like that. the 10mm = 1cm, 100cm = 1m, 1000m = 1km makes sooooo much more sense

Don't hate it - love it. Can't believe we have not converted over to it yet but, I lived overseas for 14 yrs.

I was a chemistry major. I got comfortable with metric, but it is just a matter that most Americans are more familiar with our system that is in place.

Yep, that is probably the only reason. We still have old folks who don't know metric system, so they just keep what we have. They probably I am guessing teaching the children now the metric system, so one day they will convert over.
