Well, I'm not going to go so far as say to standardize everything. You wouldn't want to standardize things that give you a competitive advantage.

weights and measures don't give you an advantage.

Those damn AC chargers with everyone of them being different annoys me too. Those won't be standardize though.

Oh I realize that weights and measures don't give you a competitive advantage. But your previous post said to 'standardize everything'.

I hate those AC charges. I know have one for every country that I could visit one day. ARGH!

I just saw a graph on who's on the imperial system and there are three countries. Two are third world backwater countries while the third is the US. Why?

I figured that having a standardized measurement would make the supply chain processes easier.

So would having a standardized language.

You know we were going to convert many years ago, I imagine some of you were not thought of yet. But I can remember it well. Society just couldn't adapt. So the project was shut down. Now people are smat, and understand it more, maybe a second try is in order?

True, but I can conceptualize the cost of having a standardize language when so many countries have their own. With weights and measures, there are three countries out of the world. I figured that the cost to change would be less.

Not sure what the myth of Horatio Algers has to do with the metric system, but that still doesn't explain why the US still likes it.

I use it regularly, I measure my food in grams and I speak in terms of meters when describing distances.
