I don't believe there is such a thing as being too nice, really.

HOWEVER, sometimes allowing people to take advantage of you is perceived as "niceness." It isn't, it's allowing yourself to be victimized.

It is possible to be nice and not allow people to abuse your good nature, in fact, doing so in a way that nobody ends up feeling insulted is, IMO, the mark of the most gracious of people.
