airlines-new security & gear

So, I am traveling this next weekend, and I am thinking about the new security measures being taken while traveling....

should I just check all my gear in my luggage? or is that going to be searched as well? does anyone know if they are only searching carry-on luggage? or the whole mess of shit you take with you?

bizzump. I also want to know. I am taking a cross country flight this Oct. No need to take onboard, just want to bring a vial / pins in my check in luggage. Maybe it would be safer to just mail it to my destination?

its only a weekend trip... I am talking small time here.... just tabs, some amps, and some pins.... just wondering if I should be worried about traveling with it... or should I leave it at home?

if you want to take the amps/vials, what ive heard, is putting them in a shampoo bottle of some sort,
granted this was for an international transfer of goods, but it sounds like it would work domestically as well...
