ahnold press

An interesting variant of dumbell pressing is "alternate and hold".

Push up one dumbell with your right arm,
now hold it there above your head,
push up dumbell with left arm,
now lower rightarm,
now push right arm up again,
lower left arm
push up left arm
lower right arm

This will burn i guarantee you.

can someone explain to me what an arnold press is exactly. i think i have an idea but i'm not quite sure on this one.

Holding 2 DB, palms facing REAR just below your chin, elbows against your sides.
Pressing up, rotate the DB as you go up so that at the top of movement the palms are facing OUT.
Lower DB rotating palms as you go back to original starting position palms facing rear.

My favorite Shoulder exercise..

I normally do both at the same time, sometimes when I fatigue I will bang out a couple more doing them one at a time. I actually feel that I have a lot better form doing them one at a time but holding the dumbell there really starts to fatigue you. I was wondering if anyone here has tried any sort of bent arnold press(doing on arm presses without anything in the other arrm)?

I've tried sitting on an angle using one arm in a conventional shouder press style.

It was to avoid an injured suprispinatus.

I found it hard to not use my triceps.
