Tried a new lift this morning and damn. I did sl deadlifts with dumbells. I only used the 120's for 8 reps and my hams and trobing right now. BTW Exodus, I took your advice and upped the weight on Sunday for my barbell sl deads to 365 and got 5 reps, but it didn't burn like they do today.

good........... you'll be happy with the results. i have done db st leg dead and yes the do burn becuase of the increased rom. i like them as the occasional subsitute.

Right, since I'm training each body part 3 times a week, I'm trying to get a little more diversity. Experimenting with new lifts to find one's that give a good burn. Anyway, I'm surprised how much weight I can handle on the sl dl now that I'm actually going heavy on it. 405 is just around the corner. I did 315 for 6 last week. 365 for 5 Sunday. Maybe another week or two? The dumbell sl's did seem to hit my hams harder, but I noticed that they don't seem to put my stress on my spinal erectors. Anyway I may start doing half-deadlifts again in the rack, since they hit my lower back harder than anything else I've tried. I just got worried using such heavy weight. I felt like I was getting minor pulls in the muscles in my middle back too often. Was up to doing 725 for 5 rest-pause reps (10 seconds between reps).

Hammer, I usually do stiff legs with a barbell on tuesday's, right after hack squats.
 
Anyway, I didn't feel like doing regular stiff legs today, because I skipped my regular deadlifts on Sunday (just needed a break from them for a couple weeks) and replaced them with stiff legged deads. I usually rotate my dead around. For awhile I did half deads in the rack. Then for a while I did deadlifts using only 25 ibs plates for longer range of motion, and to work on my pull from the ground because I was having trouble with regular deadlifts after doing half reps. Then went back to regular dead with 45's for about 8 weeks. Getting board with them again. In the meantime I want to bring up my hams so I'll do stiff legged twice a week, then I might go back to half reps.
 
that is some sick weight 725 for rack deads, please tell me you used straps cause a bodybuilder with that strong of a grip is crazy
 
Hell no I couldn't do that without straps. LoL Look at my tiny wrists in my avatar. 565 flat bench and 535 close grip lockouts in the rack are too much for my wrists also. Have to wrap them pretty tight.
 
Don't know my current stats, I'll post the one's from the day I did the picture in my avatar, but I'm up 16 ibs now. Cuting and pasting this from another thread

5'9" 200 ibs
Chest 50.5"
thighs 28"
waist 32"
arms 17.5" (have probably gained an inch since then, people have commented that my chest and arms look a lot bigger)
calves 18"

-Bench 455 X3 (had to stop benching due to reoccuring injury, now doing strictly machine work for chest)
-Squat 505X5
-Deadlift 615 X1 (with wraps)
Incuded lifts for those who are interested, although I'm a bodybuilder not a powerlifter/strongman
 
I know how you feel, I've had to stop benching completely. Actually I've got my current routine up on the woman's forum in flexygrls 6 week challenge thread.
 
Shit man I got a lot of work ahead of me since I am close to your weight. if you can think you can pm me a decent bodybuilder routine you advocate for, my joints can't take much more of a beating of this explosive training

Those are lockouts. LoL The most I've benched is 455 for a triple and I can't do that now. Benching anything over 275 hurts like hell, but I can using alot of weight on the hamerstrength incline and decline machines without pain. Incline dumbell presses are ok too if I can find someone to help me get the dumbells into position.

Anyway, I just started trying to handle more than 225 on the sl dl, at the advice of exodus. I'll be over 400 ibs on my working sets within a couple more weeks I'm sure. Sunday was the first time I tried 365. I'll just add 20 ibs a week until it gets too heavy.
