Its terrible that it has come to this...people being scared to help. Seems like everyone has guns these days. Hell, you can't even flip someone off anymore without being in fear of being shot. You could of been minding your own business and get shot for no reason.
You did good...you help put a crazy person away, even if just for a little bit to think of what he has done. :)

why do you call him crazy?

good work, mojo.

umm, are you picking on me :sulk:

anyway, are you so stupid to go rob a place? any place? Don't they ever watch cops or any of those many other shows? Very seldom do you ever see the bad guys get away with it. Even if not caught right away. I hate a theft!! There are those bustin our asses day in and day out to work hard for what we have and then you have your low life that wants to try and steal....Not much better than any other criminal if you ask me. Cut a finger off of em!!! :worried:

actually a great policy, their work comp insurance won't allow them to permit employees to apprehend criminals. They are usually instructed to let them leave... but if you put the liability in the hands of customers, then make them feel like you have their ass covered, you get unspoken protection... btw you could sue the shit out of JC if you got hurt, unf. the crook could sue the s outta you too, screwed up legal system.

on another note, why the f* would you rob a JC pennY? Someone else said a Zales... do people seriously think zales has ANYTHING above crap grade jewelry? Good lord.

Exactly! Our guys told me that because the empolyee openly and publicly asked the "patrons" for assistance by saying "Someone stop him!", they are making the company liable for the individual responding to the request of the employee. It was in fact the lady's third day working there as well, so in her panic, she may have strayed from what she should have done and called security immediately....I dunno.

As far as robbing a JCP goes, I talked about that with the detectives and recovery people for the 3 1/2 hours I had to stay there and give statements and the like. I found out the next day that the ring was only valued at just under $300.00 on sale.

Interestingly enough, during the 3 1/2 hour funfest I had there, I also found out from EVPD talking to the recovery people about how Macy's does not prosecute shoplifters for amounts less than $500.00. Why? I didn't hear, but that is what is crazy! It's like saying OK, steal my shit and you will not be punished if you get caught.

OK, so I was in JC Penney Saturday shopping for a belated birthday present for my sister (My son was with the sitter while I did this.). I was about 10' away from the jewelery counter when I heard a lady yell "hey!", then I heard "HEY!" again even louder. This time I turned around and didn't notice anything at first, then I saw the lady behind the jewelery counter say "Somebody stop him!" just like the damn movies. As soon as she said that, a young looking, thin, cleancut guy started to run right toward me, I saw one guy reach out for him but he missed, the dude made it to me and I instinctively grabbed him by the neck, whipped him around, and slammed him to the floor on his chest and face (Kind of like a collar tackle in football.). Then I pinned him by putting my shin across the back of his neck, (His buck 70 was no match for my 6'2" 260lbs. of get down.). By this time store security was there and as they were pulling him up from the floor, what do ya think falls out of his windbreaker? A fucking 9mm handgun! It was obvious it was a toy when it hit the floor, but I started thinking immediately about my son and how the gun could have very well been real and this kid could have freaked and shot me or someone else, all for a diamond ring that he grabbed from a Penney's clerk! Because I refuse to orphan my son, I will not do anything like this again.

I did get a TY call yesterday from the JCP regional general manager and will be getting a $500.00 gift card. It's just not worth my Son losing his Father.

Da, Da, Dahhhhhhhh!
