After being on Inositol for 2 weeks, I can really tell a difference in mood changes.

If I remember right, some of the studies had the subjects taking up to 50 grams/day with no adverse sides. 6 grams daily over 3 doses taken with grapefruit juice worked very well for me when I was coming off effexor.

I always took it in powder form; it is quite palatable. Just put a teaspoon on your tongue and let it dissolve...

300 grams powder for about $8 at BAC.

If you do a search under GaryWary and inositol, you will find some good information from awhile back.

I was just going to ask if GaryWary is still hanging around somewhere

What is BAC?

The description says: "INOSITOL is a sugar found in muscles that does not stimulate insulin release. It is relaxing, helps muscle growth, is a cell membrane stabilizer, and has antitumor & antioxidant properties."

Have any of you noticed any effects on muscularity from using it? Or only on mood?

I haven't seen a study linking skeletal muscle hypertrophy to inositol; but I've only done a little research in that direction.

Here's how I think it can really benefit athletes. CNS recovery. Oftentimes, we hit the wall due to CNS exhaustion -- not muscular exhaustion. Intesity, working out, not to mention stimulant-type fat burners or preworkout stacks all drain the CNS. I think inositol may help the CNS recover so that we can recover from our workouts better. I have to do some research to support this, so it is more of an "idea" at this time...

Switching gears, if somebody's stress is reduced, then that will have a positive effect on their body, catobolism and ability to recover. So if you take inositol for its mood enhancing effects and it works for you, then likely, in a roundabout way, your body will benefit from it physically.
