Abbreviated To 5x5, Check it out

For the last 6 months I've been doing a Abbrievated Mon/Thurs workout scheme. It was a basic HIT program that included one work set of each major exercise. It was built around the squat, deadlift, military press, etc... At the end of my program, exactly two weeks ago, my squat was up to 365x6, my deadlift was around the same, and my shoulder press, a bit weak at 155x6. My weight has gotten up to around 198 at 5'11 and about 10% bodyfat. I'm 20 by the way, and I feel that despite the success I'm having with this abbreviated program, I can push my body a little further in terms of recovery and achieve greater achivements in hypertrophy: my main goal. I have a lighting fast metabolism and get in 4,000 calories daily and at least 200-250 grams of protein. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to give a little background about myself. Anyway, I'm gonna give 5x5 a shot although it is a lot more volume than I've been doing lately, I'm starting to get a little mentally stagnated from the redundant abbrievated program. Here's what I've come up with so far, feel free to critique.

Monday: Chest\Calves
Flat bench 5x5
Incline dumbbell press 2x8-10
Calve Raises 5x15

Tuesday: Back, Shoulders
Seated Military Press 5x5
Side Laterals 2x8-10
Deads 5x5
Chins 2x8-10
L-flyes 1x15

Wednesday: Rest

Thursday: Legs
Squats 5x5
Leg Presses 2x8-10
SL Deads 2x8-10

Friday: Bi’s, Tri’s
Close Grip Bench 5x5
Standing Barbell Curls 5x5
Elbows-In Dips 2x8-10
Incline Dumbbell Curls 2x8-10
Skull Crushers 2x8-10

Saturday & Sunday: Rest

It is important to keep the weekends free since I play competetive hockey every other weekend right now. I feel that with my nutrition and sleep requirements being met, I can recover properly and unlike my previous routine, I'm not going to be training to failure right away. Tell me what you think.

Should work as long as your tricep workout doesn;t influence your chest workout and your chest workout doesn't effect your shoulder workout...

If I switch thursday and friday, won't my bi's be overworked, I'm actually questioning doing direct bicep work as I want my triceps to grow more right now.

switch thu and fri, your leg workout will suffer cause it is too close to back

I used to think that too. Then I did the old school training which had me squattin twice and deadlifting in 5 days. Sure my back was always tired on squat day and legs always tired on back day but I gained great amounts of strength.

bis can recover faster cause the are smaller.

Crew- good point but in old school you are conditioned to using overlapping muscles, in 5x5 you primary goal is to tax the main muscle groups to allow for increase over weeks and months, having his back give first is not the objective IMO
