getting up like like that is stupid as hell, leaving yourself totally open. and you can always tell someone that has zero training, they stick their arms out to prevent the punch from coming (which never works.) for blocks to be effective they have to be closer to the body. to best protect yourself you cant be scared to take a hit.
its common sense, but most people have little to none of that.
