A lucrative career in the bodybuilding industry

I am graduating in May with a B.S. in Psychology and a certificate in Dispute Resolution. My plan is to take the LSAT and go to law school, but that won't be for another year at least. My true love in life has become bodybuilding! It amazes me that I cannot read a lot of text books etc. with much interest, yet I can read muscle mags cover to cover, I love reading research articles about steroids and supplements as well as training manuals etc. I can't get enough of them! I would like to begin working somewhere within the large industry that is bodybuilding, but I am simply not aware of what jobs exist out there! Outside of being a trainer or a supplement shop clerk, I don't know what exists, but I KNOW there are lots of jobs out there that make a decent living and would be something I enjoy. If anyone can point some things to me, has any ideas or opportunities, please take the time to post or PM me. I truly appreciate all of you good brothers here on the boards!

There are Marketing and Company rep positions. Psychology expertise could help in marketing or representative positions somewhere I bet. Though, I would suggest taking a few upper level marketing courses and have a certificate issued for the completion of those courses.

Just copy muscletech by telling people a multivitamin will help pack on 15 pounds of muscle in 2 weeks. lol

what ever you do just be honest in all of your work. feel good about truly helping people and not taking there money. In the end they will repay you 10 fold for it.

Sure you will get people who have nothing better to do then to follow you around like a shadow and make up stories about you. Or nit pick everything you do but its the price you pay. A smart man makes a house out of the stones thrown at him.

It's a renegade business. Like show business, you have to hustle and you have to have some luck. A career in law is far more concrete.

You've found something you love to do. Now the trick is to find a way to make a living doing it and you're all set up for a happy life.

As Nelson pointed out, if you go into law, once you graduate it will be relatively easy to find a job and after your loans are paid off you will be living comfortably. To make a living off of bodybuilding, you will be paid based on your "perceived" expertise. There's not a set career path and you will be finding your own way. It will likely take much longer to get established and be able to make decent money. But if it's really what you want to do it will be worth it in the long run.

It starts with your own body...that's your resume in BBing. Compete and gain that experience. If you can make a name for yourself (even locally) that's a saleable commodity. You can train others, write books to share your knowledge, sell supplements, sell fitness equipment...as long as you can convince others that you have valuable knowledge, they will pay you for it. Right now your priority should be gaining that valuable knowledge.

A BS in physiology might have been better suited to that career but if you're going to blaze your own path it's not that big a deal.

I guess theres always a rehab personal trainer, and then you can help those with injurys. its not quite bodybuilding though. but its better than being a salesman.

Do you ever figure it out? I know this thread is older, but I feel your pain, I'm in the same boat now.
